First visit to Disneyland Paris-- a couple questions

Hi all! We're planning a couple days at Disneyland Paris this July-- our first visit! Only two days, at the end of a month in France. Our kids don't even know we're going to DLP-- it'll be a great surprise!

Anyway, I have a couple questions. First, the Unofficial Guide is my bible-- I buy a new one every year for our WDW trips-- but the DLP reviews online have been rather meh. Is it worth ordering, or is there another, better guidebook? Second, is there a cheaper (and legit) source for DLP tickets than their website? I think for 2 day/2 parks the adult tickets were $108 in advance, and children's were $80-something? (I can't recheck the website right now because my kids are nearby) Any better prices out there? And last, are the 2 day/2 parks tickets hoppers? The website wasn't specific, so I'm not sure.

Oh, I should add that we'll be staying in an apartment in Paris and taking the train to DLP both days, so it's only tickets I need.

I think the only unofficial guide that is worthwhile and actually helpful is the WDW one.

I've always liked dlrpmagic.com for planning info and think its nicely set out too. Has menus, reviews, dates etc. Other than that I think the best place to look are forums like this. DLP is beautiful so enjoy!

The Disney guide books for DLP are all out of date even the latest one

and the other one which was published in Jan 2012 doesn't cover the 20th Anniversary or Dreams

Re tickets it's too early for the tickets that you want - You'll have to wait until end of March when the new seasons prices are known and then you can buy the Francilien tickets which are normally the cheapest.

If they are 2 day/2 park you can go from one park to the other at will

Yep, tickets at the moment are on sale for the seaon upto end of March. Prices go up twice a year at DLP - April and November. So end of March they start selling the tickets for April through end of Oct.

Francilien tickets are the cheap tickets that were originally for people in the surrounding ile de France area - we are called Franciliens - and then they made them available to everyone.

Atm the gate price for a 1 day/2 park ticket bought on the gate is 79€. A Francilien 1 day/2 park ticket bought at least 5 days before your visit is 45€

There are other promotions normally during the summer but again it's too early to know what they will do this year.

Ask again end of March/start of April and I'll see what's around and best value for you
