We took our son 4 years ago when he was 2.5 and it was an amazing trip. Now we are headed back this weekend with my son and our twin 2.5 year old girls. I have a few questions.

1) We need to fly into Tampa and drive. Is it easier to get a shuttle service or rent a car that allows car seats?

2) Should we rent a stroller or buy a cheap one to travel with? We have a great stroller here for the girls but it’s cumbersome to fly with. We are looking for one that the back goes down for them to nap in.

Any other suggestions? The girls are WAY more active than our son was at his age so this will be a challenge, especially sleeping at night.

I can't help you with the car rental/shuttle thing. IDK the price. I guess you would have to compare shuttle and car rental prices.

As for the stroller, I have done this many times with strollers, often doubles. Buy your own. The Disney rentals are big, hard plastic and are cumbersome, and not comfortable for the children to sleep in. Likely, it would also be cheaper just to buy than rent and you will have to stroller for the airport, and to get to your room after a long day at the park.

Our favorite double for traveling was the Combi Sport Twin. It was lightweight, folded compactly and easily.

Wear them out in the parks. Let them walk/run around as much as possible. (my kids were always asleep minutes after their butts hit the bus seats) If you can manage it try a family suite. The kids can be in a separate room and go to bed earlier than you.

I had one who wouldn't sleep if there was anything going on. She slept in a pack-n-play in the bathroom. Desperate times....

Good luck!! I have a similar family dynamic, but my kids are now older. Oldest is 13 and my twins are 10. Our first trip to WDW with them was when DS was 4 and the twins were just turning 1.

The car rental I guess would depend on if you're staying onsite or offsite. We always stayed offsite, so we needed a rental car anyway. Any rental car allows car seats, so no worries there. If you're onsite and have no real need for a car, maybe a shuttle would be best.

Buy a cheap stroller. Just my opinion, but the ones at WDW are incredibly expensive. We had a double wide stroller that was basically one step up from an umbrella stroller. I think it was something like $50 from Wal-Mart or Costco. Had storage underneath and the seats reclined. It worked great. When you're done with it, sell it on Craigslist and you can recover 50% or more of your money. The last trip we took to WDW where we actually used a stroller, we did that...bought it from Orlando Craigslist from someone who lived near WDW. Paid $50 for it...used it for 2 weeks, then sold it on Craigslist to another vacationing family for $40.

Other suggestions? Nah, not really. You know your kids best. You know what parenting twins is like. Do what works for them. If sleeping at night is a challenge, then wear them out at the parks so they pass out at the hotel. :D

I'd rent the car. It gives you more options when you get to WDW too. We have found that with our kids it is easier to drive to the parks from our resort a lot of the time. A lot of people rent strollers and rave about it. When our three were younger we took our own, but I had a MacLaren Twin Triumph, which is an umbrella stroller so it folded up easily.

I would rent a car and take your own car seats. Your twins can use them on the plane or you can check them usually for free depending on the airline. I found DD was more comfortable in a familiar seat when on the plane when she was that young. We just rented a stroller from an outside company. It was a City mini and super easy to fold, much more so than our own stroller.

Ditto everyone re: car. We've gone with our kids when the twin boys were 1, then 2 and both times having a car was a necessity for us. We did drive, but I couldn't imagine not having a car. We take our own stroller and usually it's the smallest umbrella that's comfortable (i.e. folds small and lays flat for them to nap). I prefer having my own, but if this is a one time trip renting might be a better option. If you're planning on traveling a lot or having more kids, buying one is well worth it.

Other suggestions: Bring lots of snacks/water into the parks. Go with the flow and keep as normal a schedule as possible. You'll have a great trip!
