We are going to WDW Sept 26-Oct 3, 2010. This will be my second trip (went when I was 20) and second for DH(he went when he was 10yo) but the very frist trip of the twins.:cool1: Need the advice from the experienced WDW travellers about what are must see attractions, places to eat and things to do around WDW. :thumbsup2 We do have a ADR for Breakfast at CRT for Thursday Sept 30th, but beside that not sure.... with all the options. We had talked about 2 days at MK and 1 day at AK to start. Would Epcot be good for their ages or would they be bored there? What about Hollywood Studios? All thoughts and recommendations are much appreciated.......:)

How tall are they? That impacts what rides they can go on.

My DS (6yo on our last trip) loved Epcot. It was his favorite park - he'd take it any day over MK. Test Track, Mission Space, Spaceship Earth, the boat ride at the Land, Soarin, Innoventions, Kidcot stations, Energy Adventure (for the dinosaurs). They also have Kim Possible missions now, which we haven't done before (but is high on our list next time). Even my then 3yo DS loved Epcot the best (for the Land boat ride, Mexico boat ride and Nemo ride). MK was probably his second favorite, followed by DHS. AK was far, far behind in fourth place.

If you are going for a week, is there a reason that you are only doing 3 days in the parks? The cost for additional days is only a few dollars once you purchase the first 3-4 days of park admission.

DD is 43 inches and DS is 45....and both still growing :)

No were going more than those 3 days....just wondering what else would be fun for them. We are planning on probably getting 6 or 7 day tickets:)

My kids LOVED the Chief Mickey breakfast. What we do is get a hopper pass and go to each park and then the remaining time let the kids pick out what they want to do again or to see.

we were surprised how much we loved HS, TSM is worth going alone IMHO... and one of the kids favorites meals was at Sci_fi.... Epcot was also a ton of fun, we didn't see nearly as much as we had hoped! I think alot depends on the type of kids you have, if they really aren't into the learning stuff or thrill rides or bored easily, then maybe those other parks wouldn't matter... but I was pleasantly surprised how much they loved the stuff I thought they wouldn't care about...

you are going at a great time of year too!

Hi there - we just got back from our first family trip to WDW. My son and I had never been and my husband grew up going to Disneyland. We planned most of the trip around what our son would likely be interested in. His favorites were in order:

1. Jedi Training at DHS
2. Test Track at Epcot
3. Kali River Rapids at Animal Kingdom
4. Tomorrowland Speedway at MK
5. Sandcastle Kids Club at the BC

I think MK was his least favorite park but he still really enjoyed it. He said his favorite park was DHS, but for him it would be almost impossible to beat fighting The Darkside. We did rope drops every morning, except Epcot, used fastpasses whenever possible, and followed many recommendations of The Unofficial Guide and Tourguide Mike in order to be out of the parks by 1 or 2 every day and head back for swimming at the BCV.

Wednesday morning was great at MK. We walked on EVERY ride. Who knew it could be that good? DS was able to ride Speedway three times in a row with no wait.

I can only speak for the boys, but my 2 have been to Disney 4 times now, we just got back a week ago. Their favorite park is DHS, then MK and Epcot, last is AK. Some of their absolute favorites are:

DHS - Toy Story Mania, Indy show, Star Tours, Great Movie Ride, Jedi Training. This is our favorite park for characters as well (Incredibles, Cars, Buzz/Woody, Little Einsteins, Sorcerer Mickey, UP, Monsters), eating at Sci-Fi

MK - Splash Mtn, Big Thunder Mtn, POTC, Jungle Cruise, Buzz, Pirate Tutorial

Epcot - Soarin, Test Track, Mission Space, Gran Fiesta, Spaceship earth

AK - Safari, Boneyard, FOTLK,

My boys love character meals, so we've done all of them. Favorites are Chef Mickeys, Cafe May Cafe, Garden Grill, Crystal Palace, Tusker House. I've got tons of pictures of the character meals in my 2 trips reports.

Have fun planning!!

We are going to be there the same time! We leave September 22nd. Let's see....I have never gone with my own children, but my niece loved the Princess Lunch in the castle, Peter Pan ride is cool, Turtle Talk with Crush, Safari ride at AK, the boutique...OMG that was the highlight of her trip!

We have 6 yo b/g twins as well and just went in January. Now - I will preface this with the fact that my twins are tall (about 48.5 inches) and huge thrill seekers. My twins favorite things were Rock-n-Roller, Expedition Everest, Space Mountain and Thunder Mountain. :thumbsup2 They also like Splash Mountain, but it was closed when we went this year. Their favorite park is MK, followed very closely by Epcot. We did try the Kim Possible missions and they both loved that. They also liked the new Sum of All Thrills in Innoventions. Of course, my kids could spend a whole day in Innoventions which is why we usually allow for 2.5 - 3 days at Epcot. During a week, we usually spend 2 - 3 days at MK, 2 -3 days at Epcot (usually there is one day split between Epcot and MK). We usually one spend one day in AK and one day in DS. We may go to magic hours at DS solely to get in another ride on RnR. AK is their least favorite park. My kids are also huge into pin trading and, of course, my DD must see Cinderella at least once every trip (no matter how long the line) :rotfl:

I too have 6 year old B/G twins.
The boy got into roller coasters on the last trip, girl not so much. She's still into princesses though so dressing up, getting autographs and princess meals were big.

DS famous quote from last trip: "I looove hugging princesses!" about half-way through the Norway princess meal. So the boy had a good time too.

They both loved the slides at the pool, Soarin, Toy Story Mania, KidCot stations in EPCOT, fireworks, and pin trading.

We'll probably be splitting up more this year than in the past, DS wants to try more coasters which we'll try to convince DD, but I don't want to pressure her.

If you're going to have 6-7 days, you really need to go to each park at least once and then you can decide which ones to go back to. Get the planning DVD from Disney, so you and your kids can see what is in each park.
