Hi Everyone.

I'm after advice for a trip to Disneyland Paris with a 17mth old.
I've been to DLRP many times but this will be my first trip with my daughter. She will be 17mths when we go and we are going in December staying in the Cheyenne. Every other trip we have stayed in Santa Fe.
We are planning to take our own pushchair and will have to take powdered cows milk as I dont think they have a fridge in the room.

I have heard about baby switch. So me and my husband can take it in turns to ride the roller coasters. Is this a good service and how does it work ?

Does anyone know what my daughter will be allowed to ride. Just wondering about Pirates of the caribbean and stuff that doesn't have restraints, Just want to get an idea of what she will be allowed to go on and see.

How have your children reacted with the dark rides and shows, Concerned about the shows incase she gets restless.

Cant wait to be sharing Disney with my daughter, and hope you have some answers.

Many Thanks

Hi. We went in Aust with 3 16 month old babies and had a blast!

We never used the baby switch as there were enough of us to split into two groups and take it in turns to ride whilst the others walked around with the babies. That is the only downside I can see to the baby switch as you obviously cant take your puschair into the queues and I know for a fact that none of our babies would have been held that long!

We went on pirates of the carribean, Peter Pan, Snow White, Its a small world, all those kind of rides which they loved. POTC wass quite dark but they didn't seem too bothered about it and the definate favourite was IASW.

We never took powdered milk as they are now all on cows milk but everywhere seems to accomodate for babies really well.

We did think that we would have to miss most of the shows as we thought that they would get too restless but they turned out to be the highlight for the babies, they loved them! The only one which was a problem was Honey I shrunk the Audience. Freya really didn't like it and had to be taken out as she was screaming but the cast memeber was really good and came and got her and her daddy and led them out.

Erm.... can't think of anything else. I hope that helped a little bit? If you have a ny more questions, just let me know!

One thing we are going to try with Kacee (18 months old when we go in 17 days :woohoo: ) is putting him on baby reigns and holding on to those tightly so that he can't fall off of anything at all!

Hey thanks for the responses. Has given me some ideas aspecially the reigns ! We were looking at little back pack reigns in the argos book they do Disney Princess and Winnie the pooh. So cute.
Bit nervous of her reaction on the rides and having to hold onto her shes a squirmer, But Im sure she'll be fine.
She is also on Cows milk but werent sure if it would be easy to get hold of in the parks ?

You can get cartons of milk from the shop inside the train station (which is right next to the security entrance to the Parks), and the shops inside the resort hotels often have it too.

Another option is the filling station right next to the Santa Fe hotel - it also sells milk, snacks etc.

Hi
Our DD2 was 17 mths when we went in May. She was terrified of the characters & I think the noise and crowds were too much for her, but she is not too good with much noise or with strangers anyway. We brought her on Pirates of the Caribbean, & she hated it - it was more the dips she was afraid of in it. She did enjoy Small World, but after a few trips was more interested in trying to touch the water than looking at the dolls! She went on the caraousel, but wanted off after it started! We also brought her to Anamagique. She was fine about the dark & enjoyed it until her attention span ran out!

I'd say a toddlers enjoyment will depend on the child, some are better at taking new faces & surroundings in their stride. I had expected my DD2 not to be great, but can only hope that in 4 weeks time (when she will be 22 mths) that she will enjoy it better when we go back.

Have a great time.

Hi - welcome to the boards.
I love your name.

Baby switch is handy - I would recommend using it. It's great for rides like Crush's coaster where the wait time is long enough that you'll be glad that only one of you has to do it.

In the cheyenne, when you check in, you can ask for a ground floor / rez de chaussee room, so that you can take your pushchair in and out easily. wyatt earp is right beside the bus stop which is handy.

i would recommend making full use of the extra magic hours as it's a great way to walk straight onto rides and avoid waiting in queues with a squirmy baby.
I've taken my 15-month-old son on Pirates - we brace our legs against the bench in front so we can hold him for the two plunges - even if we didnt it'd likely be fine. it's obvious where they are.
after 12 months they can go on Cars rally - i found my squirmer sat very nicely.
he is squirmiest waiting for dumbo to start but he loves it when it's on.
