Firstly, I am not very technical when it comes to adding photos etc, but they are all on Facebook, so feel free to add me and have a look! http://www.facebook.com/jencripps

The cast:
me (36) - been waiting to go to Disneyland all my life!
DD (5)
Karen (sis-in-law) (40 something) - WDW veteran
Jessica (Niece) (17) - also a WDW veteran

Monday 10th - Friday 14th January, staying at the Santa Fe.

We started our trip by going up to London on Sunday, just after lunch. We had decided to stay at the travelodge in Kings Cross the night before our trip so that we did not have to leave at some ridiculous time on Monday morning and battle London rush hour with suitcases and a 5 year old!! I would definitely recommend this to anyone!
We got the rooms in the sale and only paid £29 per room. The Kings Cross travelodge is only a 2 min walk from the station. It was amazingly clean and comfortable. Karen and Jessica spent the afternoon visiting Harrods, while Gemma and I chilled with a McDonalds watching cebeebies!!!

Monday 10th Jan.
Up early and headed the 2 min walk to St. Pancras. Check-in and security for the Eurostar went smoothly and before we knew it we were sitting waiting for the 9.44am direct Eurostar to DLP :cool1::banana::cool1:
We arrived at Marne-La-Valley at lunch time and took our cases to the Disney Express desk.
Straight into the main park where I had to stop to catch my breath...it was so magical...more so than all the descriptions put together. We walked down main street, (me with my jaw dragging along the road), and got to central plaza in time to catch the end of the New Generation show.
Gemma was also stunned and amazed at everything! She was even quiet for a whole few minutes!!!

Karen's self imposed misson for this trip, was to get me on some scary rides!! I freely admit to being a big chicken, so as soon as the show finished, she took me over to Space Mountain. I think I was still in awe of everything and I just followed her like a little sheep, not realising where she was taking me until I was strapped in and it was too late!! I never knew I could scream so loud for so long :rolleyes1 .....BUT...I loved it!
Next was Buzz Light Year, and a ride in the Disney Train.
We watched the parade, which was brilliant, before heading to the village for some food. As would become a trend :guilty: we went to McDonalds, before making our way to the hotel shuttle bus.
The Santa Fe bus had just left so Karen (who does not wait for anything!!) decided it would be a good idea to get the Cheyenne bus and walk. This may have worked if it had not been dark and the first time any of us had been to the hotel! :confused3 We got off at the Cheyenne and when it became apparent that the path to the other hotels would not be as easy to find as first thought, we asked a coach driver for directions!
This was our first taste of the French's idea of out door lighting vs health and safety :rotfl2: I think their guidelines must be a bit different to ours!
Anyway, we made it in one piece to the Santa Fe and checked in with no trouble. We were allocated connecting rooms in Block 27, upstairs. Very quiet rooms which was great.
An early night for all after a very exciting day, with loads more to look forward to tomorrow. I went to sleep smiling that I was finally in the magic :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

Ooooh I can not wait for the next instalment! I am still deciding on wether to go on space mountain! I dont think I am brave enough lol!
I am just gonna go look at your pics ........

Awww the pics are really great, you got to see loads of characters! Where was you when you was dancing with woody?
how much were the autograph books?
x

I danced with Woody at the character tea party, it was held at the Cowboy Cookout. It cost 18euros per head and was worth every penny, although the food wasn't up to all that much! There weren't that many children there and loads of character time, there was even a paper cup fight between Mickey and all the kids against Captain Hook!!
The autograph books were 7.95 I think or there were ones with photo slots that were a bit more, but I got the characters to all sign on one side and I'm going to stick the photos on the other side.

Fantastic first day, brilliant idea to stay so close to station the night before! Can't wait to read some more.

I could not view your pictures the facebook link said currently unavailable or page may have expired or you may not have permission to access. Will try again when reading the next instalment!
