We're back from our first trip to RAT WORLD - as dh fondly refers to it - a little bit redder and a lot poorer.

Let me introduce ourselves:

Pir8girl (Me) - 40 something: A Disney lover from way back as I grew up in
the shadow of Disneyland. Travel lover and compulsive
planner.

Dh - even older : Better known as the Disney Hater, first trip to DL was as a
jaded teenager. Despises all things Disney as they
are "fake" and not real life. Enjoys tormenting his offspring
by referring to Mickey as "the rat." Dislikes rides and hates
crowds.

DD -11 - Giggle girl: Her first trip to Disneyland was at 10 weeks old. Much to
dh's credit, he joined me and a friend at Disneyland to hold DD while
we rode the rides. Giggle girl loves to laugh and once she lets loose
it's hard to reign her in.

DS - 7 - Star Wars boy: Yes, he has drunk the Kool-Aid of the Star Wars cult
and would eat, sleep and talk Star Wars round the clock if
allowed. Sponge Bob is a distant second. He also loves Disney.

A Little Background:

I've been taking the kids to Disney since they were little - usually by myself. DH has come along a few times. But this was our first (and last, DH says) trip to the World.

We began our journey to Florida with a three night stay in Key West. I won't go into detail about this leg of our trip, but it was relaxing and beautiful and gave us all a chance to adjust to east coast time.

Our trip to the world really began in the Key West airport - a very low key affair with one building. Our plane was late and the kids were itching to get to WDW.

We were sitting in the very small waiting area with lots of spring breakers, when this announcement came over the p.a. : Butts. John Butts? Butts, John Butts?

Silence swept over the entire waiting area. Giggle girl and I glanced at each other and burst out laughing. (And yes, I am 12, apparently.) No one appeared at the counter and dh and I were waiting a bit apprehensivley for the next announcement, sure to be ruder. But thankfully our plane arrived, and we were whisked to Orlando.

Let the Grumbling Begin!!!!

I wish I could of laughed with you at that annoucement........I would be 12 with you and your dd too.......sounds like a good start.......laughter
