I'm a WDW veteran for 12 straight years but am making the first trip to Disneyland and have no clue where to begin. We will be staying at DLH and I chose this one since I was told the rooms were larger. I have 2 teenage boys so it's a must.

So what can everyone tell me are the definite must sees and any advice would be appreciated!!

Well, Matterhorn and Indiana Jones ride are two of our favorites. Also the Aladdin show at California Adventure is really good.

There's a sticky at the top of all the threads, that lists what's different at DL versus WDW. If you haven't already checked that out, you might get some good ideas there. :)

Have a wonderful trip!!! :wizard:

See everything, don't miss anything and enjoy your first trip!:cheer2:

Thanks so much! I will go and visit these sites you all gave me.:thumbsup2

I definitely intend on going very slow so we don't miss a thing. My DS is a huge Indiana Jones fan so he's really looking forward to this trip and is hoping the shop has alot of collectibles for him. Can anyone tell me if the shop has alot of items?

So so on the souveniers. Nothing really extrordanary.

I dont know if they have collectables...I do know there is an indy shop across the exit of indina jones ride.

You will have fun with so many things to ride in one park alone. Someone told me once that just Aladdin alone is worth the price of admission for DCA.

I've been going to WDW since I was 3 (I'm 28 now) so going to DL last summer for the first time was amazing...there's far too much to remember that you must see!!

Mr. Toad's Wild Ride
Pinnochio
Matterhorn
Indiana Jones
Pirates
New Orleans Square

It's AMAZING!

I'm really looking forward to it having never been there. We are actually starting the trip in San Francisco and then heading to LA for 2 days and then ending the trip in Disneyland.

I'm actually looking forward to being in walking distance to the parks and not having to run to catch a bus or wait for a bus so that should be a different experience.:)

I don't know about collectibles but if you're looking for Indy type hats, they also had them at the store near GRR in DCA & the store in GCH, as well as in DL.

Pirates is supposed to be way diff from WDW. I've never been to WDW so I don't know from experience but everyone say's as such. And the Haunted Mansion is the original, of course, and I've heard that's very differant as well. Def. don't miss the difference between the Snow White's.

Did you know you can 'ride' most rides on YouTube first?

Geez, have fun! :yay: :cheer2: :dance3:

Yes, I see there is mention in differences in rides and since I'm a WDW vet and now visiting Disneyland for the first time I'll see the differences. At first I was unhappy planning this trip because we've gone to WDW for 12 straight years and I look forward to it every year and it was DH that wanted to do something different but now I'm really excited to see different things and it still being Disney and to see the differences. I'm also looking forward to things that aren't at WDW and my DS more so with the Indiana Jones ride since he's a big fan.

The Indiana Jones store has lots of hats, shirts and shot glasses. Maybe there will be some new movie tie in stuff. It is still a fun store though.

I agree with see everything! It's hard to pick what not to miss! Because everything I think of shouldn't be missed! LOL

They do have some stuff for Indy right across from the ride there. I've got a good picture of Dh with the hat on. :)

anything "offsite" within walking distance of DL proper that should be included besides the citiwalk area?

Garden View(if that's the right name of new development) restaurants, etc.popcorn::

from a non-ride point of view...i would see the dream parade in DL and the electric light parade in CA. They were both great. If you can see the pixar play parade in CA as well...
