We have been invited to go to disneyworld. We are disneyland regulars . They are going spring break/Easter week of next year.
I don't feel super good about taking our first trip there at such a busy time. What are your thoughts?

I love Disney, but next to Christmas, this is the absolute worst week to go. It is hot, and the crowds are unmanageable. We have been lucky enough to visit many times, so if we went Easter week, I would use the fast passes, have some nice meals, and spend a lot of time at the pool. But we have been on the rides and attractions many times.

If this was a first, or only trip, I would choose a less crowded time of the year.

We have been several times the week after Easter that's when are schools spring break is, although it is busy/crowded it's completely doable!

Definitely get your Fp as soon as possible, try and go at rope drop or as close to it as possible. There is a lot you can get done before most of the crowds come in. Fp can be scheduled later in morning closer to noon a lot of stuff will be walk on or with little wait til 11:00.

It will get really busy around lunch so have fp to use around then or go back to resort and dodge crowds til later in the afternoon if staying onsite. We do both sometimes we stay the whole day other times we go back just depends! Magic Kingdom we usually breakup because it can get a little more crowded feeling than the other parks to me

Would not go at that time for a first time visit - in fact I would not go at that time at all, and I've been many, many times!! It would definitely be overwhelming.

We were there during Spring Break once. Our trip was over before Easter but we still experienced the crowds. That being said it was not as bad as I expected. My son was 3 at the time and we were able to do everything on our list.

You can make it whatever you want it to be. Yes it will be busy, but it will not feel any busier then DL. You have to remember that WDW is physically bigger. When I talk to DL regulars they have always told me it feels less crowed. The down side is that most of the guest at WDW are not "regulars", but they still feel entitled because they "spent thousands of dollars to come on this trip" and don't understand "why they have to wait in lines to do what they want".

I use to be a CM and those words came out of peoples mouths more often then I would like to remember.

Going to Disneyworld at a really busy time is definitely better than not going at all... You will just need to be organised and plan in advance especially when it comes to fastpasses... There is so much to do and enjoy that you will still have a great trip

Just dont over plan and be disappointed, use the fast passes get to rope drop and manage the bet you can, during busy periods folks just need to realize they can do everything and just plan for that. Go to the pool after 1 or so and enjoy the vacation. As a regular there is a big difference on what kind of vacation you can have and what you expect to have based on when you go. So many people are not ready for the busy weeks no matter how much people tell them, those are the times when you just need to relax and enjoy a whole vacation not just scrambling around the parks trying to get on everything because you just cant.

On the bright side, the parks will open at 8AM and if staying onsite, you can do 7AM EMH. The parks shouldn't get busy until 10-11AM (though start to around 9:30), as many people will simply not be able to get up that early. If you're from CA, you'll be 3 hours behind psychologically, but if you can manage it, the much longer hours during that week may actually be not so bad. I'm actually a little jealous of the 7AM EMH's and how much you can really get done with FP's by 11:30. Do as much as you can in the morning, grab lunch, head back to the hotel to swim around 1PM and then come back in the evening.

The first thing to remember is that no matter the crowd level you will not be able to do everything or ride every ride on this trip...don't sweat it. We went at a slow crowd level time in September and we still did not see or do everything we wanted to do. Take pool/resort breaks in the afternoon and go back into the park about 4-5 pm for the evening. Your WDW will be what you make it so just enjoy the magic and have fun.
