We are going "home" to SSR for the first time since becoming DVC members two years ago. I have read all the posts regarding bus problems etc. What about construction ? Is there much going on still and did it "interfere" with anyone's stay. We requested a room near the pool/carriage house. We are going with our DS who is ten and DD who is seven. THis year we are bringing my parents both who are in their mid 60s.

How about Lake Buena VIsta golf course ? Anyone play this course ?

We haven't stayed at SSR but wanted to wish you a wonderful first trip home! :cool1:

My husband and sons have played LBV and enjoyed it very much although their two favorites are Eagle Pines and Osprey Ridge.

Hopefully someone who has stayed will respond about the construction but I do know it is continuing but I doubt very much that it is impacting stays. WDW is very good about managing that.

Have a great vacation!

We've stayed twice (including the first week it opened in 2004) and were never burdened by the construction. And I cannot comment on the bus system since we use a rental during our stays.
It is a beautiful resort! Enjoy your stay!

Enjoy your first trip home!! We stayed at SS (our first trip home) in Oct '05 in the Springs area by the pool. We saw the construction on our way in and out of SS but it did not affect us at all. There was no noisy work while we were there. We really loved the resort. We had a rental car so I can't help you out with info about the busses.

We were just home at SSR in Nov of 05. There was construction but you couldn't hear it. At least I couldn't. We were in the Congress Park area.

Home was very very nice. I had great bus service down there, others haven't, so right now I think it is hit or miss.

Have a great trip home.

Same here. Very quiet resort, peaceful. Couldn't hear any construction at all, nor see it (also in Congress Park). Not a bit of trouble with the buses. Can't say enough about this resort, and I'm not even a DVC member (so shoot me!)
