First Trip - Have Some Questions

Hello everyone.

We will be tkaing our very first trip to Disneyland Resort coming up in October and I had some questions.

1) Is this a good time to go crowd wise? Is it considered off season.

2) We are also wanting to visit Universal and Legoland on this trip. Since we will not have a rental car with us we are going to do the transfers that come with the package. How does that work? Can you be at those parks opening to closing or is their a set time when you have to go and leave.

3) We were wanting to do eithor the Los Angeles Tour or the Orange County Experience Tour. Has anyone taken any of these tours. I tried doing a search on it but could not find any reviews of them. Both sound like fun. I am having a hard time picking one out though.

I have visited Disney World over 17 times and this is my first trip to the Disneyland area. And I thought what better time to go then during the 50th anniversary. So I am really excited.

Can't help on questions 2 or 3, but yes, October is generally a non-busy time (though last Oct was crazy), but the 50th will end on Sept 30th this year, so if that's a factor that you want to see the 50th stuff, you might want to move your visit up by at least a month. Also, as some rides haven't gone down for a rehab in a while (they're trying to keep most of the major rides running during the celebration), I expect a lot of them to be going down for refurb in October. Matterhorn is a given on this as it usually goes down for refurb every Sept for at least a month and hasn't had one for over a year now.

that is a pretty full trip.....how many days were you planning?

Right now we are planning arriving on a Sunday and then departing late Sunday night. So 7 nights.
