first trip do-over, the TR: or.....sorry, i got stuck in a tour group! UPDATED 3-14

Glad you had fun in EPCOT - there is so much to do there I don't think one could ever do everything they wanted. Sorry the girls still haven't see Illumnations - just another reason to go back! ;)

The pirate makeover looks like so much fun - we almost did that last trip but decided to hold off - maybe next time. Madison looks great as a mermaid - even one brandishing a sword!

With all the swords and guns and stuff they sell in some ways I am amazed there aren't more incidents of people getting accidentally injured - I would have put the swords away as well

Oh, the pirate and mermaid makeovers look so fun!

I love the girls photo with Aurora at Epcot, they both look so excited to have met her! And how funny about the horse comments, I know that would give my husband a complex.

Love the Ohana pics! So funny that the princesses all called DH a horse!

Nice PP pic in front of the fountain!

I'm glad it was a fun day, despite it not being your favorite park!

Ugh sorry about the rude encounter right at the start of the day, not cool!

The girls look SO cute after their makeovers!!

I am woefully far behind on commenting, but I promise that I've been reading along!

We had the same conversation about the phone booths. A phone that doesn't fit in your pocket was just too much for my Maddie to comprehend.

I've never done Spaceship Earth either. I intend to this trip, it looks cute!

Test track didn't seem that different to me either. I did like the car designing if only because it distracted DD from part of the wait.

How cute are you pirate and mermaid?? I think PL looks so cool, but Maddie will not be convinced to do it.

Ugh to the rude lady at the rope. What a jerk!

We LOVE that skeleton game thingy at Spaceship Earth (we love Spaceship Earth in general!). Fun- Fun!!!

Someday I will take up your challenge of finding the most bathrooms in DisneyWorld. I have a notriously small bladder. Ask my husband..it annoys him to no end the amount of bathroom breaks required for me! :)

Your kids are too, too cute at the pirate leauge! LOVE!!! I had this scheduled for Sarah last trip but cancelled last minute to save money. I should have kept it......... My cousin used to work Pirates Leauge for years- he was so wonderful there and a few years ago got my girls in for free to do makeovers (they were not busy that day!). They loved it too... they didn't have mermaids then.

I hear they have this on the Cruise Ship as well (on the Fantasy) so I'm signing up for it for Pirate Night!

Great update! :)

Oh my gosh! Love all the updates! And I LOVE how the girls shirts match their makeovers... the Pirate and the Mermaid. Love it!! Adorable!

Looks like a fun end to your EPCOT day! We missed Test Track last time, but it seems like most people think its about the same.

The make overs were super cute! I like the PL make overs better than the BBB. Especially the mermaid ones. The face painting is really pretty! I also love that Hannah's name was Charlotte! ;)

the girls really did love the makeovers at pirates league. it was a great way to start the morning!

I agree too--the dump shop after POC could really just be a poked eye waiting to happen!

aurora was an awesome meet! I think maybe because we were last she took more time with the girls. whatever it was, they were just awed by her.

pirates league is so fun! we'd do it again if the girls were interested.

I know--rude is no way to start your morning at MK!

thanks--we had never done a makeover thing at Disney and I wasn't sure what to expect, but we seriously love pirates league!

no problem--I read your update the other day....with everything you have going on, I can understand! i'm glad things seem to be getting back to normal at your house!

I think maddie would love PL if you can talk her into trying it sometime. maybe you could do a family pirate makeover? :thumbsup2 but, she is totally adorable in all her princess finery, so I can't blame a girl for knowing what she likes!

I could not believe the number of bathroom breaks we had to make on this trip! it was crazy business! they don't go that often at home....it's like going to see ALL the bathrooms is part of the vacation for them.

I didn't know they did PL on the cruise ships--that's so fun! you'll love it!

I think the mermaid makeover is so cute and was perfect for madison. she loved it!

aaaaaawwwwww!!! I can't wait for pirate league! It looks like so much fun pirate:

we loved it--i'm sure you'll have a blast!

They both look so CUTE!!!! Looks like a ton of fun!

they were so excited for PL! it was an awesome experience!

Oh my gosh! Love all the updates! And I LOVE how the girls shirts match their makeovers... the Pirate and the Mermaid. Love it!! Adorable!

when I saw those iron ons from miss morgans I knew they'd be perfect for pirates league day! and the girls loved them--madison was super excited to "be" ariel!

PL Makeovers look GREAT!! How fun! I love the mermaid scales! Too adorable! :)

thanks--I thought they looked pretty awesome!

I agree--I think everything at the BBB is super cute and glittery fun, but I don't like either of the choices for hair. that bun looks painful and the pop star or whatever hair just seems weird to me. pirates league was perfect for us--I totally thought about you when I had a charlotte for the day! :rotfl:

and just because I can't believe I didn't use this in the last update....

day 5/part 2

after POC, our fastpass for big thunder mountain railroad was ready! i LOVE that ride! i was so excited because last time hannah had loved it too and had gone twice. this time she did not want to go. she was convinced she wouldn't like it or that it would be too scary. i'm not sure what got into her on this trip, she was much more adventurous last time. madison, on the other hand, didn't get to ride last time and when we told her she could go on, she did a fist pump and yelled "YES!!" :lmao:

needless to say, we were all going on. we got through the line pretty quickly and about halfway through the ride, hannah put her arms in the air and had fun! i think she spent more time laughing at me. i was wearing pants that were pretty slippery and couldn't stop sliding around on the seat. i'd crash into her, then slide over and bang into the other side. she thought i was pretty silly. i wish we could have ridden again, but the stand by line was just too long. we thought we'd try again at the end of the day, but we never made it back over.

after we got off BTMR, we went over to meet woody and jessie. they were awesome! hannah showed them her sword, and woody took it and poked it at jessie. she stuck it under her arm like he'd gotten her and sort of fell to one knee. it was cute. while we were there, someone yelled out "andy's coming!" but, of course, nothing happened. i guess for awhile if you yelled that, they would fall over and lay like they do in the movies when a person comes, but they don't do it anymore.

for some reason, madison was really in love with jessie. when it was time to go, jessie knealt down to give her a hug and maddie wouldn't let go. i had given the CM my phone to take a picture and she got several pictures of them hugging. it was so precious! i've always liked the toy story movies, but i have a newfound love of jessie after that!

after our m&g, we were way ahead of schedule, so we stopped at the little play area there to let the girls run around a bit. while we were there, some people from a tour group stopped to tell us how cute the girls were and asked if they could take pictures with them. again, the girls thought they were pretty awesome to get their pictures taken.

while we were waiting for the girls, we saw some classic (?) characters come by. i think they were doing some character training maybe. i missed getting pictures of a couple. we saw clarabelle--she wanted rich to kiss her hand

this guy who's name i can't remember--bad picture, sorry. he was moving pretty fast!

and brer bear and brer fox, who i didn't get pictures of. we've never seen character training before. it was kind of neat!

day 5/part 3

we were getting hungry, so we decided to head over to tortuga tavern for some lunch. i have wanted to eat there since our last trip. it smelled so awesome, but we weren't hungry. when we came back it was closed, so it was on our must do list this trip.

on the way over, the girls tormented some CMs with their swords (this was pre-you're making your mother lose her mind, now put those in the stroller and leave them there!). it was pretty funny to hear them all act afraid and ask the girls not to steal their treasure.

finally we were there!

i thought this sign was funny!

what wasn't funny was that tortuga tavern wasn't open.......i was so bummed!!! but, we were too hungry to be sad for long. we went around to pecos bill's and ate there instead. i didn't get any pictures but rich had a chicken salad of some sort, the girls had a turkey sandwich kids meal and a pb&j kids meal. maddie liked her turkey sandwich because it came on bread shaped like a fish. i got the taco salad that you can doctor up at the condiments bar. it was the most delicious thing i ate all week! i loved it! we will sooooo eat there again!

when we were full, we went over to the tiki room. rich really loves this, but i have never gone in. we were the first ones in line! while we were waiting, hannah noticed the shoes of the lady behind us. she was sort of punk, i guess, with a purple mohawk and some piercings. her shoes were sort of like frankenstein boots with really thick soles. they had holes drilled through them and you could see that there were springs inside the soles. hannah kept looking at them and would tell me how neat she thought they were. finally i asked hannah if she didn't just want to tell the lady that she really liked her boots. hannah gave me a look like only a 6 year old can manage and said "no mom! pirates don't give compliments!" i almost fell over trying not to bust out laughing!! it ended up that when the little show you see when waiting in line started, the couple let the girls move down in front of them so they could see. i told the lady that hannah loved her shoes, but that she couldn't give her a compliment on them because pirates just don't do that. she thought that was the cutest thing she'd ever heard. we ended up talking about disney and how her family have been DVC members for years and stuff. she was super nice and fun to talk to. i just love how you can meet all kinds of people at disney and they are mostly all awesome!

so anyway, i really liked the tiki room and would do it again. i actually loved the singing tikis and flowers in there.

when we were done, we jumped in line to ride the magic carpets! i did try to get the girls to pose for a picture in front of the camel, but they weren't falling for that. i guess they remembered the spitting from last time.

i had planned for us to go meet tiana that night after the main street electrical parade, but since it was getting cloudy and rainy looking, and i wondered how long we'd last if it started to pour, we thought we'd go find her now. when we got there, her line had just closed, so we decided to try another ride instead....

day 5/part 4

so we were on our way to.....haunted mansion! what better ride to get on when it was getting cloudy and gray out! it said there was a 30 minute wait, but we got in line anyway. i wasn't too worried about the wait time because i wanted to see all the new things in the line. of course, when we finally got up to all the things to play with, the line started moving really fast and we didn't get to play much. we totally missed the sea captains coffin, which i believe squirts out water or leaks or something and i really wanted to see. i also never did find the bride's ring. can someone give me a hint about where it is for next time?

we got into the stretching room quickly. i always worry in there that the girls will either get scared or get lost from all the people squishing in. they were fine though. so i'm sure this is common knowledge, but--do you actually move down in that room or does the ceiling just move up? anyway, we moved out into the line and rich picked up madison because we were afraid she'd get lost in the crowd. while we were waiting, something caused the ride to stop for a few minutes. i guess the waiting and looking around and being in the sort of dark finally creeped maddie out. she grabbed the hood on rich's jacket and covered her head in it. that hunchback lump on rich is maddie....

but, the ride started soon and she was fine once we were moving. we ended up all being scrunched into one doom buggy because some impatient people crowded past as we were all getting on and took the buggy rich was going to. the girls were pretty good and didn't really get too scared. at the end, our hitchhiking ghost was pounding on our heads with a mallet, playing some tunes. the girls thought that was pretty silly!

after our ride, we stopped for a bathroom break at rapunzel's bathroom. for a change, neither hannah nor madison needed to go, so we looked for hidden pascals while rich used the bathroom. of course, later i remembered that i had wanted to go in and see the paintings in there!

I don't know if you can see them, but Hannah even had skull and crossbones socks from Halloween on. she does love being a pirate!

this is the only pascal we found

after we were done there, we stopped to use some snack credits and got mickey ice cream bars--of course!

when we were done, we walked back over to try to meet tiana, but again her line had just closed. she is a pretty popular princess! they told us to be back before 7 and we should be fine to meet her later.

it was starting to rain so we put the girls, who were getting sleepy and crabby, in the stroller and put the rain cover on. at some point during the day, rich had bought us ponchos (i know, i know, bad DISer--i did not buy ponchos at the dollar store before our trip) and it was time to break them out! i found a sort of covered place to sit and pushed the stroller back and forth while the girls rested and rich went in to look around the christmas store.

we love that christmas store! first because it smells heavenly in there! and second, because, after rich proposed on the bridge right across from it, we bought an ornament there and had it personalized with the date and just engaged. when we picked it up later, the CM wrapping it up noticed what it said and started yelling for everyone to come over and look at my ring. all the CMs crowded around me asking about when he proposed and did i know and when were we getting married---it was so amazing! so needless to say--we have a special place in our hearts for the christmas store!

Fun times! The girls were quite popular in their outfits! I just love how all the CMs and even other guests treat your kids when try get made over! So worth the money and effort!

I was about to be jealous that you got to eat at tortuga tavern cause it's always closed when we're there. Lol

And I actually wonder that about the stretching room every time too! Lol

Too bad you missed Tiana! I never seem to track her down either!
I thought it was so funny when Hannah said Pirates don't give compliments. She took that make over pretty seriously!
Sounds like you all got a lot accomplished.
I have tried Tortunga Tavern several times, and I have never really been that impressed! It is always so crowded and hard to find a place to sit down. Just didn't love it. DH loved it though, which is why we keep going back.

I always forget to buy ponchos too, you can't remember everything.

I am so sorry - I totally fell behind. I am having a really hard time juggling everything right now. On top of being an only parent and working full time, I am trying to get enough things sewn to start an etsy shop. So I totally fell behind here last week as I was sewing every night after Willow went to bed. But I am catching up now!!!

First, poor Hannah! I hope she is healing well.

What an AWESOME Peter and Wendy meet! And I love their “cold” weather costumes too. ;)

Good call on the train! I never think to do that at WDW (I don’t think we’ve ever been on the train there!), but we ride the train at DLR all the time. I wonder why we don’t use it at WDW… Need to fix that!

 I’m glad you got to try the Peoplemover. Willow and I LOVE it - I seriously have no idea why!

I am so glad that someone else just can’t do well at the Buzz ride. I mean, I have NO idea how I’m supposed to distinguish my red dot on a target from everyone else’s. I am so terrible at that game!

How fun to do the dessert party! I’m sad that it was so cold though and you had to leave. :( I totally understand how that happens - I mean, you know our history with the fireworks. :rolleyes1: Seriously, though, I know it must have been so disappointing, but good for you for making the right call for your kiddos.

Such cute pics with Woody and Jessie!

Bummer about Tortuga Tavern being closed :( But at least Peco's Bills did the trick!

"Pirates don't give compliments!" LOL TOO FUNNY!

Tiana certainly is a popular princess!

after our m&g, we were way ahead of schedule, so we stopped at the little play area there to let the girls run around a bit. while we were there, some people from a tour group stopped to tell us how cute the girls were and asked if they could take pictures with them. again, the girls thought they were pretty awesome to get their pictures taken.

That's awesome! Our first trip, right after Addie got done at the BBB we were heading over to Dumbo and The Barnstormer when a group of 3 girls stopped us. It appeared they were doing a Disney Scavenger Hunt and they stopped Addie and said, "Rapunzel! Oh my gosh... can we get your autograph?!?" So they gave Addie their autograph book and spelled out Rapunzel so she could write it in their book. Then they of course had to have a picture with her :) After we were done, Addie turned to me and said, "Mommy... they really thought I was Rapunzel!" It was adorable. I love when other people around get a kick out of our kiddos too!
