day 1 started out uneventful- left for manchester,nh bright & early & had a nice flight out. left 45 degree temps & arrived in 78 degrees... it was BEAUTIFUL. having only found this board a few weeks before we left we had already booked our trip & we were staying at .... dummdadumdum... FAMILIES FIRST VACATION HOMES. after reading quite a bit of negative things about them i was nervous the whole morning. we were told we would be 4-5 mi from disney & we would have a 3 bd 2ba house with a pool. well we drive to the check in center in Celebration -where NOTHING is labeled- and get directions to our house. we drive & drive & drive.... it turns out we are staying 1/2 an hour from disney. that was not a huge deal, but a bit disapointing. so while DH & my mom get the girls unloaded i start picturing the mess we will be walking into. i was sweating by the time i reached the door trying to figure out where we would stay if this place was a pit. we get into this house & it is absolutely beautiful. we walked into a somewhat formal dinning room, living room, nice sized kitchen, & breakfast table. i could not believe how nice it all looked. we walked around a bit & realized it has not 3 but 5 bedrooms, and not 2 but 5 bathrooms!! this place is bigger than my apartment! i could not believe it. it was beautiful. we actually lost the girls in it 2x before we got used to where everything was. for us the pool was great because it went from 3 ft to 5 back to 3. i was really quite thrilled with the place. as time went on we realized the tv in a room we never used didn't work, the garbage disposal didn't work, and we didn't have a crib. the biggest problem of course was the crib. after several dead end calls to the crib keepers we ended up going to publix which was about 4 miles away & buying way too much food (did i mention i'm traveling with my mom who is a control freak??) yes the 2lbs of lunch meat she insisted we buy was mostly wasted, along with countless other things. we got back- still no crib. maddie slept on a twin mattress on the floor & that was the end of day one.
