Hi everyone,

We just returned yesterday from our first trip to Disney World. If you are anything like me, I spent a lot of time looking through the dining reviews to find the best meal plan for my family. I was determined to do my own dining review so I can hopefully help someone else out.

First let me introduce you to the cast of characters:
DH(30), Me(26), DS(4) & DS(2) ~ my mom & MIL also went with us but I didn't keep up with what they ate like I did ours.

My DH & I are meat & potato kind of people (which may be apparent in this review :rotfl:). Give us a good burger & fries or steak & potato & we are happy. We also love good home cooking but we couldn't really find any of that at Disney. In fact, we only had veggies a few times the whole trip.

We were on the DDP & I took pictures of everything from our TS meals, to our CS meals & snacks. Here is a breakdown of the places we ate at:

TS Meals:
Planet Hollywood ~ DTD
'Ohana (Dinner)~ Polynesian Resort
Le Cellier ~ Epcot
Chef Mickey's (Character Dinner) ~ Contemporary Resort
Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater ~ Hollywood Studios
'Ohana (Character Breakfast) ~ Polynesian Resort

CS Meals:
Pecos Bills ~ Magic Kingdom
Sunshine Seasons ~ Epcot
Flame Tree BBQ ~ Animal Kingdom
Columbia Harbour House ~ Magic Kingdom
Wolfgang Puck Express ~ DTD
Cosmic Ray's ~ Magic Kingdom

Snacks:
School Bread ~ Epcot
Mickey Ice Cream Bar ~ Animal Kingdom
Jalapeno Cheese Stuffed Pretzel ~ Animal Kingdom
Butterfinger Cupcake & Marble Cupcake ~ Hollywood Studios
Chocolate Muffin & Sausage Links ~ ASMU Foodcourt
Funnel Cake ~ Magic Kingdom
Popcorn ~ Magic Kingdom
Chocolate Muffin, Sausage Links, Biscuit & Gravy & Cinnamon Rolls ~ ASMU Foodcourt
Oh & I almost forgot the Dole Whip Pineapple Float ~ Magic Kingdom

First Up: Planet Hollywood

We arrived in Disney World after a 10 hour drive from Birmingham, AL. We decided to head to Downtown Disney. We had ADRs for later in the week at Planet Hollywood but I had read mixed reviews about it so we decided to try it. Then if we didn't like it, we could cancel our ADRs for later on. We walked right up, there was no wait on a Saturday night. I was pretty surprised. They seated us on the top floor, I think there are 4 floors. It was very pretty up there, lots of great stuff to look at. Also, I didn't think the tables were too close together as I had read before. There was music playing & a DJ but I didn't think it was too loud.

DH decided on the Sizzling Fajitas

As you can see, these came out sizzling hot!

I got the Classic Cheeseburger

DS got the kid's Grilled Cheese

We all enjoyed this meal. DH said his fajitas were good but he liked my burger better. The fries were delicious. We paid OOP + used our $15 coupon vouchers. We also decided to keep our ADRs for later in the week too.

Next Up: Pecos Bills

I love dining reviews so much!!! :cool1:

It will be nice to get a newcomer's perspective :goodvibes Im in! popcorn::

I make my ADRs end of March and I can't get enough - research! Can't wait for more reviews!

I'm from Bham too and heading to WDW in 26 days with a 4 and a 2! Can't wait to see your reviews - I am sure they will help us a ton!

I'm in! :cool1:

We are going on our first WDW trip in May!! I am also determined to do a trip report when we get back!!

I can't wait to read more.

First, I want to say :welcome: to everyone joining in! I hope you enjoy reading my reviews!

Early on the morning of our first full day, we checked into our resort, the All-Star Music, then headed straight to the park. Our first stop? The Magic Kingdom of course! I made a folder & had an itinerary for each day. I used a plan from touringplans.com but we ended up not following it exactly. There was just so much to see & do, we just couldn't run to the Dumbo ride first thing. We rode several rides & met some characters then it was time for lunch. I knew from reviews of CS restaurants in MK I wanted to try Pecos Bills, Columbia Harbour House & Cosmic Ray's. We decided on Pecos Bill's first.

DS had the Kid's Turkey Sandwich

There was a fixings bar here & you could get grilled onions, mushrooms & cheese sauce along with the usual condiments. Overall, I did not think this was good. DH said his was good. Also, normally, I am a chocolate lover but this chocolate cake had too much dark chocolate for me. Not sure if I would eat here again.

Up Next: 'Ohana
(And I promise, no more cheeseburgers, for a little while anyway :lmao:)

Ohana is my favorite restaurant in the universe, so I'm greatly looking forward to your report on it ... hope you had a good experience!

Sorry you didn't like the burgers. Fast food burgers are pretty much the same everywhere in WDW. We always get the taco salad at Pecos Bill's. That's one of our favorite CS meals. Looking forward to Ohana.:thumbsup2
