First timers... conflicted on skipping HS

Ya and that was my original instinct and I just keep questioning myself.. ive wanted to go to wdw my whoke life and I feel like thats MK.. ill b just as excited as the kids!

I'm someone that says go with your gut. HS will still be there when you go back, it's worth seeing but obviously you already know there will be a return trip.

We skipped DHS the first time we went, which was fine, but I kind of think right now is a good time to go for a first timer. With less open it’ll be a more relaxed pace and you can hit some of the shows and M&Gs and see if your family likes them or not. With all the shows it can be really overwhelming to schedule that park the first time you go and if you’re dealing with insane crowds and new attractions on top of that, I would find it very stressful. If you’ve been already, you know what you’re good with skipping.

All 3 of my kids liked being in JTA, meeting Chewie is awesome and both Kylo and BB8 were a lot more fun than I thought they’d be. If you decide to go, they make Star Wars little golden books that my son liked as a toddler. You might consider that to help your toddler enjoy more things.

We’ll be there that week too. I was considering skipping it because of TSMM but the kids mixed that idea. Meeting SW characters and JTA were must dos for two of them and the third really wants to go on RNR.

Whatever you decide, I’m sure you’ll have a good time and people are right that you won’t miss what you don’t know.

Thanks everyone! I think for now I am going to make FP's for HS in case we do decide to go and keep trying for Sci-fi and then when we are there if we decide we still want the extra MK time or more time at another park we will do that instead. FP's in the other parks wont be as important since we would have already gotten the difficult ones out of the way so I might as well make them at HS for now.

I would do 2 days @ MK, 2 days @ AK (think it's the biggest park in size) and 1 day at Epcot for the ages given for your traveling party.
I wuvvvvvv HS but since you feel there are few attractions for you at the current time skip it; there is always next time.

Well I am going to be contrary to the crowd and say I think your 3 days at MK plans sound great, especially since I'm hearing you are not planning to spend full days at the MK to begin with but will be taking some pool time AND that you are going to go to the beach for a while and then go back to the parks. I think it is the perfect way to end your trip. You'll be familiar with the layout so it will be low stress, you'll know what your favorites are that you want to hit again. Maybe see the parade since you'll probably be at the pool during parade time typically. Take the time to do some of the secondary things like the railroad, tiki room, country bears,
