Hi Everyone
I am taking my family for our first trip to Disneyland on NYE this year, we are staying at the Paradise Pier, for 5 nights.
Am I going to need to make all of our "priority seating" arrangements for suppers in advance? Or is it possible to decide where you want to go that morning and still find space?
I was figuring on just flying by the seat of our pants, but after reading different threads, I can see we need to be a bit more organized.
Any advise on things to see/do or avoid are greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Disneyland does not have all of the restaurants that Disneyworld has. That said, I would make the reservations because that is a busy time of year at the Parks, and by going standby you may end up with a long wait, or eating at a different restaurant than you wanted.

Since you are going during the busiest time of the year, I would make reservations. What I did last year when I was there for NYE, was make one or two reservations a day to be safe. Sometimes we would call and cancel, but some days we would use them. There were very long waits for some places and I was glad to have the reservations. Additionally, it was nice to have a sit down meal and escape the crowds for a bit. So I would definitely recommend reservations. And if you want Blue Bayou, Carthay, Napa Rose, or character meals, call as soon as you are eligible.

It would be safer to make reservations but not always necessary depending where you go. We were there this past week and decided to go to Goofy's one day. They open at 5:00pm and we called earlier in the day and asked to make a reservation and they said the earliest they could do was 7:20pm. That was too late so we just showed up at 4:45pm and were seated just shortly after 5:00. Also note this past week was very busy at the parks and the hotels very full.

True.
Make reservations for Goofys Kitchen or Blue Bayou. Great places!!
