Hey all I officially booked my family for 7 nights at Poly for easter week. Got a studio for around 3300$(hotel only) for the 4 of us. Did I make out okay and is the room good for me my wife and two kids 2 and 4? We wanted to be on the Monorail and close to MK as I think thats where we would go the most.

I started reserving restaurants and wanted to know if there is nothing available could we still try to be seated on a waiting list? Is there any chance I can still add a dining plan without doing a package? Please recommend any restaurants around the area because maybe I missed some.

If you have any advice that might help a first timer it would be greatly appreciated !

Since this is your first time and especially since you're going at one of the busiest times of the year, I would highly recommend this guide book:

I wouldn't try to eat at a table service restaurant without a reservation (they're called ADRs (advance dining reservations) here on the board), especially during such a busy week - a lot of times, they're not able to accommodate walk-ups.

Eating at Ohana is a must. Great food, fun atmosphere and kids and adults will love it.

Captain Cook's is a great quick service restaurant right in the Poly. Don't discount quick service restaurants in general - some are very good. We love the lobster roll at Columbia Harbor House in MK and most of the ones in Epcot are awesome (we like Mexico, Morocco and France the best)! Some of the hotels have character dining - 1900 Park Fare has a character breakfast and a Cinderella dinner with the step-sisters which is fun! Cape May Cafe at Beach and Yacht Club has a character breakfast too! Animal Kingdom has Tusker House, which is yet another great character buffet. They also have lots of delicious kiosks and quick service meal options.

Have a great trip!!!!! We'll be at Poly the week after Easter!
