I have a question. We were told some rides can wet you or you shouldn't carry on items. At each ride is there a spot to put your belongings while on the ride?

What do you recommend we do with Phones and wallets etc. We are going to Disneyland in August for our Honeymoon and will not have anyone with us to hold our stuff! :stitch:

I appreciate any help!

All items must be taken with you on the rides and even large backpacks are not a problem on most rides. The one exception is Grizzley River Run, which you can use a free locker to store items.

Splash is the other ride you'll get wet on, but if you are concerned about phones/cameras you could bring a ziplock for those items, but I've never had a problem with my bag getting overly wet on splash

In DCA for GRR use the free lockers to store your things during the ride.

In DL for SplashMt we just put our phones and cameras in a plastic bag and keep on our lap during the ride. We never sit in row 1 or 2 if we want to stay dry. Our feet may get wet but as for our belongings, it hasn't been a problem.

Enjoy your honeymoon.

We bring a small backpack to store things on wet rides. Also, we are oftentimes complete dweebs and bring the rain ponchos. If I am wearing jeans I don't care that people judge me for being a chicken and wearing the rain poncho, I am not walking around in wet jeans.

If you go on Grizzly River Run, make sure you place your feet over the little holes in the bottom of the raft. when you go down the falls the water will come up through the hole and soak your butt.. also in the middle is a place to put a bag. and just hold on with my hand twisted round the handle of the bag.. hope you have a great Honeymoon..

Get a nice bag and coat it with several coats of the "camp dry" waterproofing spray - I have done this with shoes / jackets / camera bags ect and it really does a good job at repelling water!

That and like many have stated - ziplock bags or get a nice plastic waterproof container for in your bag / waterproof baggies / ect......its a fairly easy thing to combat for cheap - I am in the same boat right now trying to figure out a good bag for our days in the park, my camera bag is awesome but it is juts to "big" to carry around all day.

Don't count on a locker being available at Grizzly River Run. They have something like a 2-hour time limit so people leave their things in there longer than it actually takes to ride the ride, and there aren't very many lockers available to begin with. There is a large space in the center of each raft where you can put your bag (it's kind of a cone-shaped cage that has a round handle going all the way around the top for people to hold on to). Just make sure your electronics are covered up. I had mine in my little cross-body bag and although my bag got wet, nothing inside did. My clothing was a different story. :)

Will you have a purse, or just a wallet? I have learned to go to Walmart before our trip and buy some of those supersized ziploc bags. Then I just carry it in my purse and I pull it out and stick my whole purse in it for water rides, or when we are in the wet zone for WOC. If you are just doing wallets and phones, no purse, you might be able to find a ziplock bag size that you can fold in your pocket that you can fit your wallet and phone in. I picked up the tip here on the DIS and it works great!

We just returned and I placed my camera & our phones in a gallon sized ziploc baggie and stuffed it in my backpack which I just carried in my lap and when I thought I might get wet, I just leaned over it. Didn't have a problem with it getting soaked.

Use a bag that can fit easily on rides with you (some use a backpack, we use a small shoulder bag), and carry Ziploc/etc. bags inside to stow the items you don't want to get wet. You may want to include extra socks in those Ziplocs, too!

I've always carried a purse that would hold up if getting wet so I can just tuck our cameras and phones inside and haven't ever had any problems.

we always go in the summer so our shoes and clothes tend to dry rather quickly in the heat of August; I would think if we went another time of year when it may be cooler I'd bring something to put a change of shoes in to keep from getting too chilly.

I find having a good bag to hold your items typically does not ruin anything I've brought in. The one I carry is this Osprey Warp Vertical "sling" or one-shoulder bag you can check out here. The "post-consumer recycled PET polyester" material it is made out of helps to keep the water from soaking in, but for safe measure, I keep my camera and my phone in a zip-lock bag inside my sling. That way, I don't have to leave my bag elsewhere. I've never had any issues not being able to bring everything with me.
