We are going to the Orlando area, primarily for WDW, in 05/2014 but my kids, both of who are bigtime Harry Potter book/movie fans, want to hit Universal for a day. I originally planned on staying at an offsite hotel for 2 nights but now am re-thinking that. I just saw where the newest hotel, Cabana Bay, is offering an intro. rate of $144. nt. in May. My question is, is it worth it, considering we are going specifically for the Wizarding worlds...? Can we go to the park and still enter early, then stay at the hotel or do we have to stay and then get the early entry? Opinions and help in deciding please?

Only the one Wizarding World will most likely be open in May. Diagon Alley probably won't open until July or so.

Cabana Bay will give you early admission but not unlimited express like the other onsite hotels. For each night that you stay you will get early admission for that day and the next day. Lots of people check into the hotels before 7 am to get that privilege.
