First Timer: EOS camera...worth it to bring inside the park?

I have read that there are certain rides where you can't even bring backpacks.

Was wondering if this is the same with EOS camera? Usually my husband will hang it to his head. In Disney, he usually just hold on to it.

Should we just forget about the camera and bring a point/shoot one where he can put inside his pocket?

We are thinking of bringing my fanny pack (very flat and you can put on the side). For the kids, can they bring a small nylon backpack, the one you close with a string. Will they tell us to put inside the locker as well?

Any tips to make this trip enjoyable and less hassle for us will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

For big rides: Mummy, MIB, HRRR, Gringotts, Hulk, Dragon Challenge, and HPFJ, the backpacks and the camera will need to go into a locker. Most of the time, except for the 2 Harry Potter rides, the free lockers aren't that bad to use. I normally look for one in the back of the area as everyone seems to want to go up front.

Another thing to consider with an expensive camera is Dudley Do Right, Popeye, and Jurassic Park are very wet ride. Most of the time much wetter than their Disney counterparts.

If you enjoy your EOS, I'd park hop every day and take the EOS 1 day and a small pocket sized camera (or even a good cell phone camera) the others.

Thanks a lot for the tip. I think we will skip the EOS and just bring our waterproof point/shoot camera that way we don't have to worry about it.
