Hello, I will be going to Disney World for 4 days during Christmas.

I am wondering if anyone has any tips for a first timer to make the most of the campgrounds etc... Can I request a site number if I already have made my reservation for my tent site? I'd like to be close to a bathroom if possible, but not sure a person can request a specific site.

I am interested in knowing if i can go to the resorts that are near or a part of the campground? can I use the pool at the wilderness lodge area? Can I wander the various resorts around disney world if i am staying at the campground?

Can I take my bike and ride it to where I pick up the bus , or boat? Is there a bike locking place?
Thanks for any info.

Welcome to the camping board!

If you can leave plenty of time for relaxing and exploring the Fort and their activities.

You can't request a specific site with certainty. You can request a loop and ask to be close to the comfort station.

You can visit any/all WDW resorts.

You can not use any pool but the one at the Fort.

Yes you can bring your bike, there are racks for locking/parking.

Stacy,

:welcome: to the DIS.

Denise/2goofycampers is on the mark.

There is a Comment section on your reservation where you can add/include a comment about a request. We usually advise "NOT" to request a particular site because if it's not available the Fort Assigner doesn't know WHY you wanted that site.

You can, on the other hand, add a comment to your reservation to be "near a Comfort Station" or "near a bus stop" or (my favorite) "away from the main road" (so I don't hear the diesel busses in the late night or early mornings).

Pool Hopping over to Wilderness Lodge is not permitted. If you are staying at the Fort you can use the main pool at the Meadows area or the quiet pool in the cabin area. Please don't try to use WL. WL people can't use the Fort pool either (I bet they want to).

In my experience if you have a Fort parking pass you can get into the other resorts if you have a valid reason (as in....visit Port Orleans and see Yeehaw Bob's show). If, on the other hand, you go over to Y&BC in the early a.m., some CM think you are avoiding EPCOT parking fees and may not let you in for the day. Your Fort pass gets you theme park entrance for free to DHS, MK, AK, or EPCOT.

The Fort has bike racks, trees, and fences to lock your bike onto at the Marina/Settlement area towards the MK and the Outpost area near the check-in area of the Fort for DTD and the other theme parks. The lock is your responsibility.

Have fun!
