First Time with my 3 year old

This is out 1st time with our 3 year old, any safety suggestions regarding rides? Our son is really into buzz, do you think this ride is appropriate for his age? What other attractions are a must see for a child his age?

We went through a substantial portion of Fantasy Land and Mickey's Toontown Fair when DDs were 5 and 2.5. Most of the attractions were okay with our younger daughter. We did have a little bit of fear at the end of Peter Pan and Hefalumps and Woozles part of Pooh. Dumbo, Small World, Carousel and the character greetings at Mickey's Toontown were big hits. On the latter, we ran the Disneyland Fun VHS for several weeks before the trip to get our DDs use to the idea of the costumed characters.

I think the Buzz ride would be fine for a 3 year old. I don't recall any height restrictions...but I could be wrong. We plan to take our DD on it when we go. If only so I can attempt to get more points than my husband this time

Three years old is such an awesome age for Disney. Our DD was 3 the 1st time we took her to MK, and our Granddaughter was 3 last May on her 1st visit. She loved Buzz, (Daddy is a big "gamer", so she thought it was cool to be inside a "video game") anything in Fantasyland was great, she loved the CountryBear Jamboree, Toon Town. In Tomorrowland, the old "WedWay People Mover" - I don't know the new name for it. and IASW. MGM has lots of great things for little ones- Muppet 4D, all the characters everywhere. I could go on & on. You know your little one better than any of us. Have an awesome time!! (We get to take our DD, DSIL & DGrD again in November - Woo-Hoo)

Buzz should be Ok. He will love it in MK.

Our son was 3 and a half when we first took him to WDW. He'll be 6 and a half now when we go in Dec. He LOVED just about everything at MK. The one ride he met the height requirement for but I wouldn't recommend is Dinosaur! at AK. That one scared the ba-jeezes out of him! He kept burying his face in my side and peeking on the Haunted Mansion ride but kept asking to go back again and again and again. Each time hiding less and less. Now he talks about it being his favorite ride with Buzz being a close second! He loved Splash Mountain and Thunder Mountain. He'll probably love all of MK! Epcot really bored my son. MGM was a little better for him but not as much as it will be now. He loved Star Wars there and of course Playhouse Disney. He did meet the hight requirements for ToT but we didn't take him on that. We will this time. And he liked AK pretty well but he got more tired walking around there.

We just went in Sept with my 3 yo DS. He loved Buzz- that was his favorite! It's not scary at all. We rode it at least 10 times, too! In Fantasy land, he rode all the ride with no problem. The only one I was worried about was Snow White, but I sat with him and played a game to catch the witch before she caught us and it was no big deal. I t hink he fed off my vibes, so as long as I was upbeat and OK, he was too. My DS was too short for dinosaur! in AK, but I'm glad since it would have been too much for him. Way too bumpy. We will be back in December and I'm not sure I'll let him ride it then, either. He loves dinos, but we'll just have to see. Feel free to PM me or post more questions for that age since we just went. Three is a great age for Disney!

We have been going to Disney World with my daughter since she was 2 1/2. At that time she was big enough for everything at the MK except Space, Big Thunder and Splash Mountains. We went the next fall for the halloween party when she was 3 1/2 and she was tall enough for Big Thunder & Splash, not sure about Space because I wouldn't have let her ride it. She loved them all. She was so thrilled that she was finally big enough to ride Splash & Big Thunder Mountain. Big Thunder is actually her favorite ride. She is now 7 and I still have not let her ride Space Mountain. I don't like the way the seating is set up on that ride and don't want her sitting in a seat all by her self where I can't hold on to her. Silly I know. She also loves the Tiki room. The only thing in the MK I would worry about is Space Mlountain.

In Epcot Mission Space would not be good even if he is big enough. Test track will be fine if big enough and Soarin is absolutely unbelievable is he is not affraid of heights. Turtle Talk with Crush is not be missed for that age. I think there may be a few things in Future World that might not be a great idea but don't really remember what they are since we have spent very little time there in our pst visits.

MGM has lots of great shows ans a couple of rides that are okay for little ones. The Great Movie Ride is okay but there is a couple of scary parts in it. The Tower of Terror can be very scarry for kids even much older than 3. I still am not going to put my daughter on it unless she wants to ride and I don't see that happening soon. I have seen so many people force their kids to ride this ride with them screaming their heads off the whole time because of shear terror. Last summer there was a little boy behind me that was at least 7, if not older that was forced to ride it by his dad so scared he was in tears begging God not to let him die. After the ride I heard him appologize to his dad because he wet his pants.

At AK the only things I wouldn't put hime on are Dinosaur and Primeevil Whril, he won't be tall enough for PW since DD still wasn't last summer.

He will have a terrific time.
