Hey Everyone! This is my first post! We will be coming to Disney in late October for the first time. We will be there 4 nights. Not a lot of time, so I need to know the MUST SEES and MUST DOS! We will have 2 11 year old girls with us. What about character breakfasts? Are they worth the $$$? Is there a princesses one? Also, is there still a parade and fireworks every night at that time of year? Any helpful suggestions would be GREAT! Thanks!
Steph.

The character meals are worth every penny. There is a character breakfast at Cinderella's Castle. My best suggestion is to get a Walt Disney World guide (Birnbaum's is what I use but I know there are others that are excellent). Then you can look over each attraction and gear your trip to the girls interests. If you will be there for Halloween get tickets for Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. You will get lots of replys with other suggestions so I will say TTFN (Ta Ta For Now):earsgirl:

Hi stephbesel and welcome to the DIS!!!!!
You will find invaluable information on these boards.
Suggest you look at allearsnet.com, mousesaver.com, and wdwinfo.com for ideas and then go ahead and post questions.

For the short time you are there, don't try to overbook yourselves. You will then have reasons to come back (and back and back)....seriously, the Parks will be closing earlier at that time of year, so you will want to make sure you are up and at 'em early not to miss a beat. Priority seating (Disney's version of a reservation) shouldn't be any problem at that time of year but always make a PS for the places that are must-do's such as Cinderella's castle. You'll want to notice the specific nights that the evening fireworks at EPCOT and MK are on so you can choose that day at that park. Also when Fantazmic is running at MGM and go to that park that day as well. (that's 3 days spoken for). One of the nights after the parks close, go to Downtown Disney for shopping. The huge Disney store there will have everything you've seen elsewhere, so don't think you have to buy everything you see the first time at the Parks. If you do purchase at the park, have the packages sent back to your room so you don't have to carry them around.
When my DD and DS were around 11 here's what they liked:

Sorry--I hit my keyboard by mistake....

To finish off.
Here's what they liked:

MK: Space Mtn., Jungle Cruise, Buzz Lightyear, the new Tiki Room, Pirates, Splash mtn., Haunted mansion, and of course now Philharmagic
MGM: RRoC, ToT, Star Tours, Disney one man's dream, WWTBAM, Backstage tour, Muppets (this IS cool for all ages), Indiana Jones
EPCOT: Norway, China, Canada, USA
AK: Safari, Rapids, Falls, Children's station, Dinasour (this is really intense in a couple spots)
DTD: RFC, Legos, Disney Store

Have a wonderful time--you will NOT see it all!
