Hi everyone,
This year will be our first time venturing away from Disney for a few days at Universal. And I am sure like many first timers I will have a bunch of goofy questions. The first question I can not seem to find the answer to is this. We are going for three days in a row in October due to renting a car, my concern is Halloween Horror Nights. Does this event close down both parks ? My thought was okay go to park A during day and when it closes go over to park B, but now I realize that won't work if both parks are part of this event.
Thanks

hhn is usually held in the studios.
studios would close to the public at 5:00 and ioa would stay open until 7:00 then.

there are rumors flying that both parks will hold hhn this year.
if that happens, both parks will close at 5:00.

we won't know until UO makes the official announcement of hhn and the dates.

hhn is held on thur, fri, sat, sun in october.
mid october, wed will be added.

opening weekend does not include thursdays.

what are your october dates ?

Thank you so much, that helps a great deal. We are at the Beach Club from Oct9th - Oct 21. I have chosen Monday Oct. 14, Tuesday 15th and Wednesday Oct.16th. So it looks like the only day that could potentially be a problem would be Wednesday if both parks were included. And since its our third day we will just go with it and eat a nice dinner offsite to make good use of having the car.

Sounds like a good plan. :thumbsup2

Orange County isn't showing any break during that week...it looks like it's the next week that will be affected. Osceola County is out Friday 10/18 and Monday 10/21. Orange County is out Thursday 10/24 and Friday 10/25. Seminole County is out Tuesday 10/15. With Orange County being in session that week, I don't see a huge increase in crowds since the other counties are further away. Daytime crowds should be about the same as normal.

So the PP was saying hell week because of crowds ? The touring plans website shows US and IOA at a 3.8 crowd level. But I also realize that Oct 14th is Columbus Day. My family has done our 11 day Disney vacation mid- June quite a few times, obviously I realize its different because of fast pass but we know October was way better to us in those parks. What kind of wait times are realistic for the crowds we will see in Oct. at say Harry Potter, Hulk or RRR ?

Yeah...Hell Week is usually when the local schools are out. It really impacts HHN more than the daytime crowds...in my experience.

I think you'll see waits of anywhere from 20-30 minutes for the most part on those attractions you mentioned.

Waits of 20-30 I can do standing on my head.... it's the 188 day wait to get there that's going to kill me :rotfl2:
