Hello!
Just signed up for the boards. I have some questions.
We are planning our first trip to US/IOA and need your help, please.

After browsing the boards a few days (great info here!) I would like to know:

parking fees for RPR - do they charge per nights stayed or daily? We are checking in early 12/25 for one night. Will they charge parking for one night or will they charge parking for the two days we will be there?

next - when do AAA rates become available for 12/25? should I book two rooms at the seasonal rate ($324) now? or can I wait for AAA rates to come out?
I should also mention I would like to book using my Discover card which offers 5% cash back on hotel reservations. That particular bonus is available July - Sept. Is that too risky to wait 'til then? :confused3

Thank you for your help!!

Thank you for your help!!

You will only be charged for one night's parking.

The AAA rates usually come out a few months before. However, I must caution you; you are travelling in the peak season and usually the discount rates end on or around 12/23. Historically, there have not been discounts during the Christmas/New Year's break. That does not mean it is not going to happen, but chances that there will be significant discounts during that week are iffy. But keep checking every day.

If it is not too much of a stretch to pay the deposits, I would definitely book your rooms now, especially since you are travelling during such a peak period. You can always have your rate adjusted if there are AAA rates available. And since you have 5 days before arriving to cancel your reservation, it is better to be safe rather than sorry. You can always cancel if the rates are too high for your budget.

As for the Discover card thing, what you can do is book your rooms now to secure them. If there are still rooms available July through September (which there should still be), then just cancel the rooms and rebook using your Discover card. That way, you are covered no matter what. You have rooms now in case they sell out. And you can cancel them and rebook to get the Discover discount if there are rooms still available.

Thank you so much goofy!!
You have settled a few issues for us.

My thoughts were the same for booking now and then re-booking in July! :thumbsup2 the real "kicker" is that Discover has the same bonus going right now 'til the end of this month, but with an $800 cap on purchases. Since I booked our airfare just last week and stayed at a hotel in Feb, we have already surpassed the cap. grrrrrrr

The real deciding factor is probably not having AAA rates for our date, so I am so much more confident about booking at rack rate now. It's a bit pricey, but would really not be good if RPR sold out and we would have to choose HRH or PBH!!

Thanks again! Gotta go grab my ressies! :yay:
