Hi together :)
My boyfriend and I (25,21) are planning our Florida trip in March :)
We will stay at OKW from the 6th 'til the 17th.
Do you have tips which room or building we shoud request?
And a really big question what do you carry in your park bags??
I hope it's okay to post it at that place. If not just tell me :)

Is someone of you in WDW, too at that time??

Hello!

I really can't answer anything about OKW, as I have never stayed there. But as for the park bag, I have a few suggestions!

1. I would definitely bring sunscreen to the parks every day, even if it isn't sunny. It is very easy to get sunburn, especially on your face, and when that sunburn strikes boy is it uncomfortable!
2. If you are planning on riding the water rides (which I highly reccomend) It would be a good idea to bring a big plastic bag to put your whole backpack/drawstring bag/purse inside during the rides. The floors of the water rides tend to get VERY wet, and you don't want your electronics getting exposed to the water. One of the big Disney bags works like a charm, and you can ask for one at any merchandise shop.
3. Bring some snacks! I know part of the fun at Disney is trying all the different foods and dining experiences. But with all the walking, you may tend to get low blood sugar. I always pack granola bars, fruit snacks and trail mix in my park bag.
4. I know this can't really be 'carried' but use MyDisneyExperience! It is a LIFESAVER. It shows all the wait times, if there are reservations available for restaurants, character meet and greets, park hours and so much more! Definitely utilize that app while at the parks!

I hope you have an awesome trip! If you have any questions feel free to ask! :mickeyjum

This is a fairly comprehensive review of OKW from the easywdw site.

Easywdw is one of my favorite Disney blogs. Josh lays out touring plans and periodically uses them to test his timing. He also has a dry sense of humor. Another site worth checking out is http://**************.net/ . Dave and Josh wrote a guide together.

We usually take some water into the park, sunscreen, snacks, ponchos and snacks like granola bars. We do rope drop and apply sunscreen and eat our light breakfast items while waiting for the park to open. (Usually the parks open 10-15 minutes before the stated opening time.

Watch the weather before you go. I have been in Orlando in March when it was in the high 90s and in the 30s.

Enjoy your trip. Disney Springs is a boat ride away and is changing rapidly.

Thanks :)
A big question is we have a DSLR and we do not want to take an extra bag :/ so do you put in in you backpack or how you handle that?:sad2:

I don't bring it to the parks as a rule anymore. I use a point and shoot. Easier to carry and store, and most of the time gives me the results I want. However, when I did take it with me I had a camera bag backpack. There was enough room in it ( I only bring one lens with me) for the rest of my stuff. If you are going to use a regular back pack, pack some zip lock plastic bags for your camera and lenses so they would be safe on a wet ride or if you are caught in a downpour.

I tend to pack a lot into the parks. Sunscreen, of course. Water bottles, ponchos, snacks, camera and memory cards, extra pair of socks, Band-Aids and moleskin, hand sanitizer, hair brush, wallet with cash, credit card and photo ID, and a small bottle of Motrin, phone. Given your ages, if you will be ordering alcoholic drinks, you WILL be carded. You will need to provide your passport as proof of age. You may be able to just use a photocopy of the first page of your passport plus another photo ID (like a drivers license).

I only bring my DSLR when I know the weather is going to be nice and I know the pictures will turn out nicely. On gloomy days I tend not to bring it.

Some kind of wallet, enough to hold some cash, a card, and ID.
sunscreen
water bottle (use fountains around park or Quick service to get a cup of ice water) Free water!
ziploc baggie of some meds (tums and advil)
cell phone and external charger
camera (unless using your phone)
poncho (i like the Totes brand cause they come with a mesh bag you can fold them up into)
I bring my eyeglass case and contact lens case (in case something happens, so I don't have to leave the park blind)
I bring more then whats above but I have two kids....

Remember, unless you rent a locker, whatever you bring with you, you will have to carry all day. Don't load yourself down with too much stuff. We try to bring as little as possible. I would definitely bring sunscreen, water bottles, and some cash. Wear a hat that will keep the sun off of your face and the back of your neck. The Florida sun is brutal, even in March. As for cameras, DSLRs are sometimes quite heavy and awkward to carry around. I suggest a harness that will keep it close to your chest and not swinging around. There is also the possibility of it getting wet on rides and in the rain. Definitely bring it a few times to get some great pictures. Also, use the PhotoPass opportunities to have some pictures taken. If you are planning to take a break during your day, pack what you think you might need in the morning then you will see what you really need to bring on subsequent forays into the parks and can pack appropriately. I used to haul a huge backpack filled with stuff until I realized that we used very little of it. Now it is just the essentials and we try to get it all into our pockets to avoid bag check.
I have never stayed at OKW but it is a DVC resort so it should be pretty nice.
Minnie Mum is spot on about bringing your passports if you want an alcoholic beverage. Disney is pretty strict about that for international visitors. The only place in the MK that serves alcohol is BOG for dinner. If you aren't going there for dinner don't bring your passport.
Have a great trip. Cheers!!!!
