Hello from Texas, everyone!

I've wanted to plan a trip to Disney World for years, but things kept getting in the way. Right now I am hoping to travel with my DH, DD#1 (3) and DD#2 (2) around Christmas time of '11 or summer of '12. I am just starting to price things and see how affordable my goals are going to be.

Any and all advice about traveling with small children, cost saving ideas, or any general thoughts are appreciated!

Howdy! Our first trip is little farther off, but it's nice to see another Texan here. Good luck, and there's a lot of information on these boards that will help you.

First of all, :welcome: We're glad to have you here!!! Planning a trip to WDW is one of the most fun things you will ever do! My advice is to scour these boards to find as much information as you can. Ask as many questions as you need to, because that's what we're all here for! I can guarantee you that SOMEONE on here can answer it. :thumbsup2 Most importantly, HAVE FUN!!! party:

If you want to stay on properity I do every time check Disney web sit. every Monday. They will put special deals out they and they are some time awsome. For example, we are going next week 5 days staying at port orleans french quarter, with park hoppers and meal plain and we only pain $2000.00. But I did book this in january.:cool1: By the way does any one know how to get cheep tickets to sea world. I have heard a rumor that when you cross into FL from GA you can get cheep tickets at the rest stop. Does any one know??

Thanks to all of you for the warm welcome! I don't even know what questions I have yet, but I'm glad to have a place to ask them when I do come up with some.

Hello! Okie here - not far off from you. :)

Hi and welcome!

We're planning our August 2012 trip now.. well, "We're" isn't really true, I'm doing the planning :)

As far as cost saving tips, take a look at the Value resorts: the 3 All Star resorts, and Pop Century. All are on Disney property, so you have access to the Disney perks-- EMH (extra hours in the parks for guests of Disney Resorts), DME (a free ride to and from the airport) and all the Disney transportation to and from the parks.

Also, take a look at the meal plans and see whether or not one would work for you. We LOVE the meal plan, but it's not right for every family.

As far as timng goes, I think you'll find summer MUCH cheaper than Christmas, and probably much less crowded too.

And for what it's worth, this time around we're using a Disney specialist travel agent (as opposed to the AAA agent we've used in the past.) At this point, I could most certainly do the work on my own. But I love the idea of having another pair of knowledgeable eyes looking for discounts. And if someone else can earn a commission off my trip at no cost to me, I'm good with that.
