DH, DS (12) and I will be heading to Disneyland Paris Oct. 7 and 8th. While we have been to WDW several times, this will be our first time to DLP. We are planning to do DLP one day and Disney Studios the next. I was just wondering if anyone could give us any tips on what to do/see, how to plan or the not to missed parts of the parks. I'd appreciate any info you may have.

Thanks,

Melody

Make sure that you ride the main attractions in the Disneyland park such as Pirates, Space Mountain, Phantom Manor (Haunted Mansion) and Big Thunder. Although these are recreations of their classic counterparts in the US parks, Disney has enhanced and improved them so you should enjoy even more some of your old favourites. Space Mountain is, literally, a blast!

I think that Halloween festivities will have begun during your visit. DLP have made great efforts at this in recent years, and the whole of Frontierland gets a terrific makeover to form 'Halloweenland'. I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

The Walt Disney Studios is only recenly opened and is very much smaller than its nextdoor neighbour. If your entry ticket allows you might want to consider spending only half a day in the Studios and a day and a half in the Disney park. If you do this make sure not to miss the "Moteurs... Action!" stunt show in the Studios. It's a world class attraction, and for me is the highlight of the Studios.

Regards

Rob

I was going to suggest the same as Rob - one and a half days in the Magic Kingdom and half a day in the Studios if your passes allow.

You can obtain Fastpass for Peter Pan, Big Thunder Mountain, Space Mountain and Indiana Jones - Backwards.

Bear in mind that the restaurants in Disney Village will be very busy after park close but I am reluctant to suggest that you leave the park before park close as I think this Magic Kingdom is particularly pretty at night-time, particularly with the Hallowe'en decs up. Perhaps you could make sure you eat well at lunchtime or you could book one of the hotel restaurants before you set off for the parks.

I'd certainly recommend Pirates Of The Caribbean, Phantom Manor and Big Thunder Mountain ...... but I'd also explore the whole park if you can - there is a lot of detail worth noting particularly in Adventureland. Have a seat and watch the Tarzan show!
Honey I Shrunk The Audience has specific rows for people needing the earphones so you can hear the English dialogue - the greeter inside will inform you which doors you should enter.

Where are you staying and how are you getting there?

Thanks so much for the great info. I wasn't sure if DLP had fastpass or not. Glad to hear that it does. We are staying at the Elysees Ceramic on Rue de Wagram in Paris. We booked it as part of our vacation package through USAirways. It's very near the Charles deGualle-Etoile Station so we plan to take the RER A line directly to the parks. We really considered staying at the parks for the couple of days that we'll be there but DH didn't want to switch hotels!

Anyone know if there are any different characters at DLP than at other parks? DS loves to get his picture taken with the characters and DH loves to chase them down!! In fact I think DH is the bigger kid of the two! He can't wait to see if there are any characters that we haven't seen before!!

Thanks again for the info.

Melody, the characters do meet and greet in the on-site hotels and in the park - I haven't seen any different characters to those in WDW and be warned - they are not as organised as WDW! Their minders are rather laid back! There is one place that has a proper queuing area, which is to the left of the Central Plaza ( the roundabout in from of the Castle) once you've reached the end of Main Street and I'd pop into City Hall to find out who wil be there and at what time.
We have run into characters by luck more than judgement! Along Main Street or in the arcades that run behind the shops in Main Street for example but then there is a crazy clamour for autographs and photos which we decided not to be a part of.
Again, I'd ask for info in City Hall.
I don't know about the Studios, hopefully someone else can help answer that.

I'd also recommend that you get to the park for opening to make some headway before the crowds.

Melody,
We will be in DLP at the same time you will be. We will be there the Monday and Tuesday (I think those are the same days -- don't have a calendar easily accessible). I will wear my green ribbon!

Thanks to everyone else who has posted info about Disneyland Paris. I am excited to hear that they will be decorated for Halloween.

Cassandra,

Yes those dates are for Monday and Tuesday. I'll wear a green ribbon too and look for you! We are so excited about going!!
The posts make me even more excited if that's possible!
Thanks again everyone!

We have just recently returned and had a great time.

Couple of tips - The water is terrible to drink, either bring a few bottles or pay for the expensive water. The milk is longlife and tasts vile!

The parks were busy when we were there in August. We got to the Magic Kingdom early and left about lunch time when it was crowded. I would then spend a few hours in the Studios as all the events hold large amounts of people. All the shows at the studios were excellent and some we saw twice. Don't miss any of them.

Food wise we found Belle Notte to have the best pizza with really good prices for meal deals. The cowboy cookout had great ribs. We also got sandwiches from the New York Deli in the village and took them into the Studios to eat.

If you have any questions about the studios just let me know.
