Having been to WDW every it has been open, I am now taking my DW and DD to DL for a long weekend. I would like help on a few things. First we are staying at The Camelot Inn, we are flying into LAX and fly out of Orange, due to best times and prices. Thoughts on our hotel, good and bad. Next, since this is a special DD trip I want to get a limo from LAX to hotel, any suggestions. DD wants to your LA/Hollywood, best tour suggestions, finally what are the DL must dos?

How long is your long weekend? Three days? Four? Five? When are you going to be there?

The Camelot gets pretty good reviews. It's nice and close to the crosswalk, just across the street from the esplanade. You should be able to get to the gates in 5 minutes or less.

I would spend at least three days in the parks to make sure you have time to see everything. The timing of your trip matters a bit, as there are a lot of winter/spring refurbishments going on for the upcoming 60th, and the entertainment schedule isn't as full in the "off" season.

Search for Hydroguy's tips for WDW veterans. It has lots of helpful tips for what is different and better (or just plain different).

Never stayed at The Camelot but it is definitely nice and close. A very short walk to the parks.

When is your trip planned for as that will be a big factor with all the refurbs going on right now?

Sorry, our trip is Feb. 13-17, just a quick one this time. We come to California a few times a year, but this is the first time we can come just for a trip without business.

There are several refurbishments taking place during your dates.

Enjoy your trip.

Also a long time visitor of WDW. Planning my second trip to DL. I can only answer as to must dos for us. Those are the things that we can't experience at WDW, or things that are "better" at DL...stuff like the Fantasyland rides you can't find at WDW, Indiana Jones, Pirates, Toontown, Space Mountain, Marvel Superhero stuff in Innoventions, Carsland...my kids really enjoy Tom Sawyer Island at DL better than MK, and also really like the Redwood Creek Challenge. Aladdin show, California Screamin and Goofy's Sky School are also favorites.
