Hello everyone!

I'm planning our first trip to California for June.
How many days should i plan for Disneyland (both parks)? We will be 2 adults (29-30 years old), without kids.

What else should we do in South California ? San Diego zoo ? beaches ? LA tour ?

My last question : how's the weather in the begining of June ? and how are the crowds ?

Thank you very much for your help !

3 Days for DL/DCA would be great - 4 even better. It will allow you to really enjoy the attractions without feeling rushed. There are so many MORE in DL than at any one park at WDW. School will be out, though there are some year-round districts in So. Cal - but plan on it being fairly busy...especially on weekend days.

The weather in June will be warm to hot. Typically already into the upper 80's to mid 90's, and sometimes even nearing 100. Be sure to stay hydrated.

Other "big" attractions/things to see that would make your trip special would be the San Diego Zoo, Universal Studios, Laguna or Newport Beach... but there are hundreds of "smaller" things to do in So. Cal, too. It's a fabulous place to visit.

Enjoy it! Have a great time. My DW and I grew up there, and remember many summer days at DL together. It was a blast...plus I worked there for 3 years in H.S. & college - so I had a lot of time there. I get back as often as I can - at least 3 or 4 times per year. :thumbsup2 Not as often as I'd like, but you do what you can, right? Thankfully my employer is in Irvine...:cool1:

You should look at the City Pass.

3 day park hopper
1 day at Universal Studios
1 day at Sea World
1 day at either the San Diego Zoo or the San Diego Wildlife park.

I have never seen it getting hotter than around 90 in the beginning of June. In July, August and September it can get to 100s, but I would be surprised if it was that hot in early June.

June is perfect IMHO. Not burning hot but no need for a sweatshirt at night.

I don't know how long you have but I would plan for no less than 4 days at DL/DCA. You'll need at least 2 for DL and 1 for DCA and the last day to go back and enjoy your favorites again.

I would skip the Hollywood tour thing and spend some time at the beaches. I am from So Cal and my favorite beach is Huntington. :thumbsup2 Lots of shops, food, and their Main St is fun. If you have extra time we love Sea World. I would skip the zoo, a zoo is a zoo. ;) Catalina Island is a fun day excursion if you have the time. Stay near the shore. Balboa Island is a blast too. Another fun thing is to have a bon fire at night on Bolsa Chica beach. :thumbsup2

Have fun! :goodvibes

Most would recommend a minimum of three days at DLR with four days better. If you are going early June be careful which days of the week you choose as weekdays typically have reduced entertainment.

The average high in June is 80 degrees. Average low is 60 degrees. See "Detailed Weather History for DLR" www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=23004158. I think June is a great time to visit DLR.

Thank you so much for your good advices.

If we don't have a car, is it possible to go to the beach by bus ? how far are laguna, newport or huntington beaches from Disneyland ?

It is possible but it will take a while. Beach Blvd runs straight into HB. It won't be the quickest route but you'll get there. I would seriously consider renting a car for your beach day.

I agree with these suggestions. And the weather will probably be in the high 70s or low 80s. It doesn't get too hot until July/Aug. oh--rent a car to go anywhere. Busses take forever with all of the stops, and DL is not that close to the beach to just jump on a bus for a quick ride. If you drive yourself it may take about 20 minutes to the beach, depending on traffic and which beach you are going to.

I disagree - San Diego Zoo is far superior to any zoo, it is a must see. Especially with adults, kids can get bored but we loved it.
Beware of June Gloom - We often saw fog and low clouds in June, they would burn off mid day.
See about getting tickets to Jay Leno - it is great fun!
I think Del Mar is racing in June. If you have a car a drive out to Julian is fun. We usually only spend two or three days in Disney when we go without our DS. We seem to be able to see more and quicker without him. (the whole time we are wishing he were with us, slowing us down.)
The So. cal City Pass is available from Costco.com - great deal!
Have fun!
