we will be going to Disney from May 9 to May 16 with our children ages 11, 8, and 3. We are staying at the POP Century Resort hopefully I will like the hotel...I think we are going to be overwhelmed by the whole experience but we can't wait to get there. I need some good survival tips any advice you have will be greatly appreciated. :confused3

Plan your days ahead of time before you go.
Make Priority Seating now for all your sit down meals. (This is very important)
On some of your days take a mid afternoon break to go swimming.
Have fun!

Will agree with shannonandtoms advice would also add, stroller for 3yo, fastpass use, character meal is a definate, try and get a good look at the park maps before you go and just get an idea of your 'mustdo's' and factor in some time for getting to parade spots early.
have a wonderful time, welcome to the DIS and ENJOY the planning

Have water and some small snacks in your backpack. While you are waiting in lines they really come in handy. :mickeybar

:grouphug: :hourglass :cool1: Hi,welcome to the DIS!You will love the Pop Century Resort.Be sure to spend some time there checking it out, swimming, etc. There is lots for your 3 children to do there. And,the most important advice, have a wonderful trip!

Don't try to do too much in one day. If you over plan, you'll get burnt out, and you won't enjoy your vacation. Relax, and enjoy everything WDW has to offer. You're on vacation - relax! :)

Try to have fun is the most important. Read up before you go, use the main page to see things and pick beforehand what you will want to do. Dont FORCE your children to the limit...they WILL get tired. Take time out to just relax, watch a parade and "FEEL" the magic. You want this experience to be a MAGICAL one, and it will be whatever you want it to be... :lovestruc

Excellent advise! I always tell first timers to start out early..do a park..come back to the hotel for lunch/swimming/napping..then, back to the parks in the evening. You definately want to take advantage of the extra hours since you're staying onsite. Have a great trip! :teeth:

I am a complete planning freak! Rarely do I go anywhere without a mental itinery and usual a written down one - my husband is driven to distraction! SO you can imagine how I feel about 2 weeks in Orlando!!
We're paying an absolute fortune to travel there from Northern Ireland and I am determined to do as much as possible without hospitalising my 6 year old son with exhaustion!!!
I've planned for our park days - we're going to forget Universal (just can't do everything) but wanted ideas for a few quieter days. I've read about Winter Park cruises - anyone been? any good?
