First time to disney - how would you suggest getting from CDG to the Sequoia?

I've had a look at the sticky thread at the top re this but still so confused

There will be me hubby and a 6 and nearly 4 yr old.
Haven't booked flights yet but think we will be travelling on the one which lands approx 3pm (going sun-thurs)

Just trying to write all the costs down and make sure we can definately afford the trip before booking.

okay, for prices - the VEA has its own website, I believe its 19 euros per adult one way, 13 euros per child one way.

if you go on rstransports website you can immediately get a price for your party of 4, either shared shuttle or private shuttle price, one way or return.

and the high-speed TGV train from Paris CDG to Marne la vallee chessy you can get prices on raileurope or sncf.fr - just pick a day of week and time within the next 3 months (as these fares are only available 12 weeks ahead of travel) to see what you would likely pay on your date and time of travel next year.

We'll be traveling from CDG ot SL too. And we chose shared shuttle, RS transports. I think it's 98 eur round trip for 3 of us.

also, have you considered driving? You could drive down to Ashford, stay overnight in a travelodge/premier inn etc there, get the early Eurotunnel to Calais next morning, 3 hours drive in France and you're at your hotel. Then you could do the reverse on your last day. If you collect Tesco clubcard vouchers, you can use those to pay your Eurotunnel fare. It would work out far cheaper for you than flying.

Thanks for the suggestion, it sounds good except its a long drive down to Ashford from manchester and don't think I would want to do it on the day coming back as we'll be too tired (and paying 2 lots of overnight hotels wouldn't be cheap) also don't have any clubcard points saved up.
Might just have to pay the high flight prices for ease really.

Just had a look at that website, it's 102 euros round trip as a shared shuttle or 127 euros private shuttle.
I'm ok to share, but will it go direct to Disneyland or will it make loads of drop offs in other areas first do you know?

if you share at all, it will be with one other family, so one stop on the way to your hotel maximum. I've always booked shared shuttle price with rstransports, and only had to share on one journey.

eta - premier inn and travelodge regularly have sales where they sell family rooms for £12 or £29 for the night, so it would still be a lot cheaper than flying for a family of 4.

We regularly go to DLP in the car and we are near Manchester. It is much cheaper than flying and I find better because we just load the car up and off we go. We always stay over at Ashford there are always cheap deals on the hotels but even full price it still works out cheaper and I find it less hassle than trailing around airports

Which hotel do you stay in in ashford? Just priced the travelodge up and it's £35 per room so not bad.
Do you normally drive down and stay over then get an early Eurostar the next day? Then stay over again in ashford on the way back when you get off the Eurostar? Where would we leave the car?

It's probably do able just can't figure out how it will all work.
Does it take a long time to get to Paris from leaving Ashford?

exactly right - the shared/private shuttle drivers typically meet you at your gate exit.

Oh I was getting confused. When Ashford was mentioned I assumed it was Eurostar because there's a station for that in ashford. Just looking at euro tunnel and it goes from Folkestone - is that not far from Ashford? How would it work in Calais - getting to disney (long drive?) and where would we leave our car is their parking at the sequoia?

We've used RS shared shuttle service a few times, have never had to share and have never had any problems with them. I would definately choose a shared shuttle over the VEA, did VEA first trip and never again (strike action caused problems).

Can also recommend Ezyshuttle, tried them last night, just because everyone recommends them on here, couldn't fault the service but they're more expensive than RS so I'll be returning to them next time.

sorry, that was my mistake - its Folkestone for eurotunnel, not Ashford. Same thing with travelodge/premier inn at Folkestone though . Its a 3-hour drive from Calais to DLP, and you can park your car for free at your hotel.

That's ok, I don't think Ashford is too far from Folkestone so could stay there. Would be interested to know where people stay so I can price it up?
It does seem a very cheap option though
What are the downsides? Just the 3hr drive the other side? At least we wouldn't have to pay for shuttles from the airport too if we did this.
