Hi everyone! My husband and I are Dis fans and go quite regularly. However, this will be the first time we will have a car on property :drive:. Here's the situation. My husband and I will be flying into Orlando and taking ME to get to our BWV room. My parents will be joining us a few days later and they will be driving. So here are a few questions if anyone can answer for me :)

1. I was told I could receive the parking pass when my husband and I check in along with my parents KTTW cards (we will all be staying in one room). What information does the hotel require from us? i.e. make and model, or color of car, plate number, etc?

2. Do I pay for parking at the hotel even if I have a parking permit/pass?

3. Do I pay for parking at the parks if I have a hotel parking permit/pass? If so, how much is parking per day? Do we get a discount if we have the hotel parking pass?

4. Do I have to pay to park at other Dis resorts if I want to visit for restaurants, or shopping?

Sorry for so many questions. I'm just new to this particular situation and I want to be armed with all the information I can be. I figured you guys on here would know all the facts for me :cool1:

If you guys can figure out any other info that would be useful for me I'm all Ears!!! :goodvibes

Mods: please feel free to move this if I've posted it in the wrong forum

Thanks so much!

1. Yes, you can get a parking pass at check-in. I do not remember ever telling them anything about the car.

2. Hotel parking fees are in your rate. No extra charge required.

3. The parking pass will get you access to the theme park lots for no additional charge.

4. No charge is required by anyone to park at the resorts, if they are using the amenities. The trick is that your parking is for a limited time (4 hours or so), this is so off-site visitors don't take advantage of the spaces at resorts near theme parks.

One note I found was, we on many trips had the car parked nearly the entire time. Last month, we foung taking the car to the park and the last person leaving would have it to get to hotel, avoiding the horrendous lines.

That being said, it was much faster, no getting lost, or parking in the waybak areas. Even with a handicap plate, it was difficult not only at the parks after 11 am, but parking back at the hotel coming in late.

If not closing the parks, it is so much easier to leave the driving to Disney.

The only thing I noticed on the parking permit was the dates printed. No vehicle information given. I guess the permit is attached to the name on ressie.
