Our family of 4 just returned from SSR. We stayed 5 days over Memorial Day. This was the first time we used the DDP. I had been debating whether it would be a good idea or not. We have the DDE card and I wasn't sure it would work out for us.
Well, all I can say is that it saved us money! I had made ADRs for Ohana's, Chefs du France, Le Cellier and California Grill and with dinner alone we basically paid for the DDP.
I must admit though that there was too much food. One the first day DD didn't want to have Counter Service Lunch, she wanted a Turkey Leg instead at Epcot. Turns out the Turkey Leg at American Adventure in Epcot is not included in the DDP so we had one extra CS Credit right from the get-go. Another day, DH and DS had Bongos take out service so we had 2 more CS Credits left over.
We had to really be creative about using up the 3 CS Credits. We ended up having breakfast at Artist Palette to use up the credits.
We also had a hard time using the Snack credits. My kids and husband just kept forgetting to use them. Luckily we were able to knock them out easily by getting water and soda for the room.
The DDP is a good value, I would just recommend that you be very knowledgeable about the DDP before you go. There were several CMs that didn't know anything about the plan and one time we were charged for everything as a room charge. The CM had to refund the charge because she incorrectly put it in as a room charge. We also had some instances where the kids tried to get 2 sodas using SCs but the CM told them they could only get one. They had to charge the other soda to the room.
Overall we had a wonderful trip, as usual and the TS meals were wonderful!
