The early mornings were starting to be a killer but we felt it worth the effort when we could get so much done at the parks .Usual routine of breakfast and straight to the shuttle however it was raining this morning so it was VERY quiet. When we arrived at the park entrance the heavens opened so we dashed through to the Discovery Arcade.
(Note to self I need new Crocs as mine are well worn so no longer have much grip so I clung to Juz walking through the rain for fear of falling flat!! )Even in the rain however the park is so pretty.
Juz and younger two got their usual Space Mountain fix whilst me and Kristian did Buzz. We decided to head to Fantasyland early today as this is one area we had hardly done.Thankfully the rain had now passed and started to clear up nicely.Kyle tried with no luck to remove the sword from the stone.
We did Pinocchio, Snow white and the teacups all as walk ons.
Then walked around taking lots of pics.
It’s a Small World wasn’t yet open so we headed up to the rope drop area by Pirates of the Caribbean so we could make our way to Big thunder Mountain without the crush of the other day as non Emh guests were not yet in Fantasyland.
We had a short wait then did the power walk to the BTM. Juz had gone ahead to get FP so we met up at the ride. Thankfully today it hadn’t broken down so we rode fairly quickly. As the ride seems a bit wilder than WDW or maybe I’m getting older
but me and Kristian decided we didn’t want to re-ride, so the others went and claimed their FP ride whilst we chilled in the courtyard of Fuente del Oro.
We then walked through the caves whilst we waited for our fast passes for Indiana Jones to come available. We were looking forward to this ride as in WDW Indiana Jones is a show in the studios. Be aware however the height restriction is taller than the other Disney coasters and the Cm at the FP gate didnt measure my youngest but we were told just as we were boarding he was too small!Poor thing was so disappointed as hes a coaster freak, but Kristian chose to stay with him so we could ride as he wasnt feeling too well. The ride was over in a flash! I certainly wouldnt have queued for it very disappointing.
By now we were hungry so made our way to the Cookout Barbeque. Very impressed with the food and the setting with yummy ribs, fries and fruit salad for dessert.
We timed it right purely by chance that the Tarzan show just around the corner was to start in 5 minutes so took our seats in the theatre. The show was very good with great acrobatics.
After the show we walked around once again admiring the landscaping. There is so much to see that is often ignored if you are being a commando with the rides.
We wandered through Fantasyland which by this time was heaving . Of all the lands this seemed always to be the busiest. As we made our way to Main Street we were lucky to see the Character Express en route.
Back to the hotel for some much needed rest and coffee. The view from our room:
We returned to the park refreshed ready for our meal at the Steakhouse we had booked at City Hall that afternoon. On reading the menu outside we were concerned the kids wouldn’t have much choice so we looked in on the Lucky Nugget which wasn’t yet open for serving. Sure enough we got a seating booked for 630pm….never would happen in WDW!!
We wandered around Frontierland for a while jumping on to Phantom Manor again.
It was now time for our meal so we went to the desk of Lucky Nugget to have a short wait before being seated. We had a great seat right next to the stage on the raised level so we could see all the characters as they came out. The buffet was GORGEOUS loads of choice including meatballs, ribs chilli and chicken fajitas all nice and hot. The desserts were to die for with crepes, crème caramel, chocolate mousse to name a few plus a well stocked fridge of ice lollies and lollipops too. There was lots of character interaction including Captain Hook, Mr Smee, Tigger , Pluto, Goofy , Pinocchio, Balou, Gideon, Geppeto and EEyore.
A really great last evening meal we returned to the hotel for drinks and Msn then completed the packing for our journey the next day.
