Hi All. First post...althought I have been lurking for a while.

We are driving down to the Fort on June 23rd and plan on stopping over night and then finishing the drive the next day.

We are in Connecticut....so looking to drive about 15 hours the first day and finish up the rest on the next.

There are myself, DW, DS and Twin DD's. Any recommendations for stopping overnight with the trailer that everyone will feel secure in?

I searched the forums, but many seem to be years ago and not current within the last year or so.

Thanks for your help!

Check to see if there are any KOA's on your route. They are usually always a safe bet. We are bringing our fifth wheel the first week of May and are going to stop at a hotel with ample parking for our "travel" night.

We are just outside of New Haven so 15 hours would get us to Jacksonville. Assuming you are a little farther north you may want to stop at the KOA Savannah South. Very nice. KOA Point South is also nice. But we have also just pulled into one of the many Walmart's along 95 in Georgia.

Thanks all

We have driven straight thru before and it wasn't a problem, but as I get older I don't want to do it in one shot again. The bones hurt after a while.

Thanks

Wow -- 15 hours is pretty aggressive for one day. I see you have done it before. That would be a looooong day for me. Good luck and safe travels! Enjoy the Fort!

The campground at Kings Dominion in Doswell
Rv Resort at Carolina Crossroads in Roanoke Rapids NC
Camp Pedro at South of the Border
New Green Acres at Watterboro SC
Lake Harmoney at Townsend Ga.
We have used all of these and all were not from from 95 and would stop at them again, hope this helps.

Thanks for all the locations, looking into all of them and gives us many options along the way.
