First time cruisers...any tips?

Room service tips are not part of the $12.00 per night gratuity that's added to you onboard account. You can tip in cash upon delivery, or add it to the charge slip that comes with the food.
A few other items have a room service fee, but not that many. Just read the menu to find out. You should tip them each time you order, one of the few times on board you can use cash if you so choose.

Thanks for your help!

Also random first-timer question. My family and I are split up into two staterooms. Will we still be seated together for dinner? Or do I have to specifically call DCL and request to be seated together?

You do need to make sure your reservations are "linked". That will do it. Chances are, if the two reservations were made at the same time, they are, but it wouldn't hurt to call DCL and ask.

You should be able to link your reservations together (I was able to with my friend, so I could even log in and see the activities/reservations they made) if they are linked together, 99% chance you will be seated together. To link them, call your TA and they can do it. If you booked directly with DCL, then call DCL for it!

... but I have never felt the ship NOT move on any of our cruises. It is a constant rocking that ranges from mild (but noticeable) to severe, and we have never been on a cruise during stormy weather...

I would agree that the ship was always rocking during our last cruise. After the first night though, I seemed to get used to it. I didn't really notice it unless the seas got bad. I was worried about getting seasick so we brought meds. Thankfully I never had to use them.

One of the greatest disservices that I feel is done to new cruisers is when people say you will not feel the ship move. I assume the people who say that truly do not feel the ship moving, but I have never felt the ship NOT move on any of our cruises. It is a constant rocking that ranges from mild (but noticeable) to severe, and we have never been on a cruise during stormy weather.

I can feel every motion of the ship, DH cannot. I can feel ship move as we are just starting to pull away from the port.

Luckily I don't get seasick. But I wear the Psi-Bands the first day and in rough waters......just in case. (an ounce of prevention......)
