We are planning an afternoon/evening at AK in September and we were planning on hitting Rainforest Café around 3-4pm to start things off. I know opinions vary on quality, noise etc but having never been there before, is this a good option? Is the restaurant outside of the main gate or do you go thru the turnstiles for AK first?

Is it a good option? There are other places I would rather go but we had a good meal there and enjoyed ourselves.

If you know what you're getting, and it seems like you do, then go for it.

We let our son choose an ADR or two for each trip, and he inevitably goes for either RC or TRex every trip. We're fine with it. The food's not bad, it's just nothing you can't get locally at a Ruby Tuesday's or TGIF for the most part. We ate at the RC at AK last Tuesday, and it was fine.

I thought for something different it can't be that bad. Not expecting Victoria and Albert's - unfortunately.

It's not bad at all....we've never had a "bad" meal there. It's just that you can't go in expecting anything unique. It's standard chain restaurant food....which makes sense because it's a chain restaurant.

We all like Rain Forest and T-REX. We eat at one of them every trip. Our foods always been good and the atmosphere is a lot of fun.

We have been twice and have really enjoyed it both times. The shrimp scampi is delicious!

I agree with all the opinions here. I do want to add, I prefer the AK one vs the disney springs one. Not sure why, I just do. If you've never been, then I think you'll be happy you chose it, the atmosphere is unique....the food...not so much but it's not bad.

I can handle an evening of 'not bad'. Are there appetizers there that are big enough to satisfy a light eater?

We ate there for lunch last year and had a very good meal. It is a busy, bustling place, but we enjoyed it.

If you decide to do AK earlier you can also enter directly from inside of the park. They have two separate entrances to the restaurant.

The Rainforest Cafe is decent chain restaurant food. We don't eat there at Disney because we have one 30 minutes from us. We prefer to eat at places we can't get at home.

Yes! I really like the pita quesadilla. Its more than enough. Their pizzas are huge too. My favorite is gone, it was a BBQ chicken pizza but I think they still have a pepperoni one. The portions in general are very large. 2 people can usually split everything.

We've always enjoyed rainforrest cafe. We got more because it's a unique dining experience than because the food is amazing. : D Have fun!
