First time as an Adult at FW

DH and I just purchased a 2016 Innsbruck 26ft (amazing deal since they were getting it off the lot for the 2017 models). We have reserved a full hookup in April 2017. My parents are traveling with us in their camper, too. What are the best loops to request? No pets, we are considering a golf cart as my mom has had double knee replacement. Are there any tips/tricks that you have for camping? Thanks for your help!

Welcome mustbgoofy! Just an FYI, all the full hookups are pet loops. My favorite full loops in order are 1800, 1600, 1700, 1900. If you decide against a golf cart 1600 & 1700 are closest to the bus stop. Have a great time planning your adventure.

I think the "Best Loop" question is so subjective. What is great for you might not be great for someone else. We have been to the fort twice. First time in the Preferred 300 Loop (with pet) and the second time in the Premium 1400 Loop (without pet). Both had their pros and cons. From what I have read, there are really no "Bad" loops. Again, however, there may be some issues/concerns such as proximity to the canals, size and orientation of the concrete pad (Some angles are tougher to back into depending on your Trailer and skill).

I think if you are going to have a golf cart then really, no sites will be that bad. If however, you get there and find the site you have been assigned is not to your liking you can request another one. Just be aware that if you want to be able to swap out your site, it's easier if you arrive EARLIER. The later you arrive, the harder that will be.

Just got back (all adult family) and we were in the 900 loops this time. While we do not have dogs with us, the ones that were around us were not an issue. As that we love coming to the Fort and we got a deal, we purchased a golf cart to take with us on these trips (4th in last year). Make sure you take the time to explore as the campgrounds are amazing

I love exploring the Fort. I cannot wait to share it with DH and DD3. We are renting a cart from Kenny. DH wants to know if there are any issues with leveling? He just wants to make sure we have enough blocks! I have looked through the picture thread and not seen many trailers with leveling blocks under their jacks (of the ones I can see).

We have never had to use any leveling blocks at The Fort. They did a good job keeping the pads level.

I agree with Denise. The 2 times we were at the fort, no leveling issues.

Awesome!! Thanks! Have people decorated for Easter? I could only find Christmas and Halloween pictures online. And, what loops are full hookup (no pets with us-not preferred or premium)?

I have not been to the fort during Easter, but it's my understanding that folks will decorate any time of the year. If you want to decorate... Go for it! Just keep it in good taste.

Looks like 1600 - 1900 are the "Full" loops and they are all pet friendly so you will likely be around those with pets.

Repeat what Peg says about 1600 x 1900 being pet loops. He is also correct on decorating. If you want to do do it I say go for it. We have seen folks go all out for Christmas Halloween and Thanksgiving as well. Considering how we campers cn get I suspect any Holiday and a reason to celebrate is as good as any

We were there over Easter and there were quite a few Happy Easter signs and a couple of sites had decorations in their "yard" so I say GO FOR IT!!! We will be there over Easter again - it was a wonderful experience.
