We were the first guests to stay in our room at Tokelau this past week and we just loved it! The location was great, the room was lovely, and there's nothing like watching the Independence Day fireworks from the beach (except maybe from a bungalow- ha!!). We bought a small add-on contract at PVB the first day they went on sale, sight unseen. The room was much larger in person than I expected based on pictures. We had 3 people and there was tons of space, including ample storage. I know there has been negativity about the Poly DVC on the boards, but I was very happy with the room and resort. The renovated pool area is very nice (great slide, kid's area, and hot tub) and the view is amazing. We had our first ever meal at Ohanas and it is our new favorite!! Heading back in October for a "girl's weekend"...can't wait!

Was your room standard view? I think there was some speculation that Tokelau may have a few lagoon view on the end.

You had a very nice view! If I had to guess, it looks like you were in villa 1914 at the north end of the Tokelau Longhouse.

Thanks for sharing with us! Glad that you had such a great time! We are probably buying into Poly in less than a month. So it is nice to read some positive things. Although, I haven't read much negative other than it not suiting people's liking (only studios).

I think the negatives have been mostly about the lack of 1 bedrooms, the point cost and high point cost of the bungalows. I think as more people stay there and see the beauty of the resort along with the convenience of the location, those negatives will lessen. I do think there should be a point reallocation. My "standard view" above shouldn't be the same number of points per night as a parking lot Pago Pago room. A slight adjustment in the points chart would be warranted.
The room and location were just perfect for us! I can't wait to go back!!

Yes, on July 3rd when they did the practice run for the big July 4th show. The fireworks felt like they were right over our heads! The electrical water parade floats were in front with flags, etc. lit up. It was really something!

think that some of the complaints are about no 2-bedroom except for the bungalows that plus no 1-bedrooms.

that say also loved my stay too - staying again in Sept.

It will be interesting to watch the next decade. If rumors are correct, they have plans for 2BRs and 1BRs in the future. It sounds like part of the delay is for the reclamation of the racetrack for parking. As with anything, plans can change so it is purely a rumor.

In the past, Tikiman has written they shoot some of the July 3/4 and NYE fireworks from the island between MK and Poly.

After seeing the fireworks pictures, PVB for July 3/4 is on our Disney bucket list.

The staff mentioned 360 degree fireworks. They were definitely going off all around!

Speaking of Tokelau, I read that East Pool is scheduled to close I believe July 13th...Guess one entire side of Tokelau will be facing the construction..:confused3
I am sure that the Oasis Pool once it is completed will be beautiful:cheer2:; will be awhile though!
