I was so on the fence about going, but today I did it. I will be going down on Saturday 10/22 (the day after my birthday) and staying at Pop (POFQ was my first choice but not available with my pin discount:sad1:). I will only be staying for 2 nights but it will be 3 days away from the stress of real life! I will be going to MNSSHP, which is my main reason for wanting to go. I am very excited and just a little bit nervous!

I can't wait!

That's awesome!! I'm sure you'll have a great time. Sometimes just a little time away is all you need!!

Congrats, Kristi391!!! I'm also going on my first solo trip in early Nov...I have the same feelings of nervousness and excitement, too. I hope your trip goes great and would love to hear all about it when you get back! And Happy early Birthday wishes to you! :)

I will definitely be reporting back to tell you all how it goes! I am pretty sure it is going to be fantastic!:cool1:

Congrats to you planning solo trips. My question is what about going solo makes you nervous?

:eek:Hi NJDIVA,

I guess nervous is the wrong word. I go away for weekends by myself fairly often, mostly to hockey games, but I have lots of family/friends telling me I am crazy for going to a theme park alone without any kids. I also have a 19 month old nephew who I love more than anything and want to take him to WDW but my SIL says she doesn't want him going until he is at least 3, so I worry that everything is going to make me miss him terribly...silly I know:eek:

Now that everything is booked and I am only 4 weeks from going and starting to think of stuff I want to take and bring with (need to find a fun Halloween t-shirt!), I am very excited and the apprehension has pretty much vanished.

My friends gave me an incredible amount of garbage for going by myself, but it was the best decision I ever made. Now I've done at least 3 solo trips and am moving to the world by myself.

Do what you want, not what your friends want you to do.

Kudos to all you guys for going on solo trips!! I'm not brave like that... but I'm slowly working up the nerve to do things by myself. I'm getting tired of missing things because I'm not brave enough to do them solo. I'd love to hear your experiences! Maybe it will give me more courage!!

Hi cknguyen617! Don't be too scared to do things on your own. It may feel a little weird at first, but you might find you have more fun by yourself than yu do with others! :goodvibes. Life's too short so go have fun!:thumbsup2

That being said, my plans have changed a bit. My mother heard I was going and she wanted to come too. So we booked her on almost the same flights going down (same flight from BOS to DCA but earlier one from DCA to MCO...I would love it if I could somehow get on that flight with her.) We are on the same flights going home

So, instead of doing 3 parks while I am there I have changed things up a little bit. My flight gets in at 12:24 so I am taking:guilty: the ME for the 1st time and hoping to get to Pop by 2. I plan to spend that afternoon/evening resort hopping. Mom and I did this a little bit a few years ago and loved seeing different resorts. She especially loved AKL so I am hoping we can go over there around dusk and see some animals. I figure we can eat at a resort food court and return to Pop and relax and turn in early after being up since 3am.

Sunday I hope to be at Epcot for RD and spend a good part of the day just hanging out there. Not sure if we will go back to Pop before mnnshp but I am hopping to be at MK between 4-5. All night there.

Monday we will sleep in, go shopping at DTD, lunch at 12:30 at T-Rex (another first) more shopping then head back to Pop to take ME back for our 6:15 flight home:mad:

Not a long time down there but I think it will be lots of fun. I am very excited:banana:

:goodvibeshi!

I am going on my first solo trip at the end of November. I was nervous at the first thought of it, too. But this trip is special, it is dedicated to my mom, and if you would like to read more, my PTR link is in my signature.

I do a lot of things on my own because I am tired of waiting for people to have time and money to do it with me. If I waited everytime a friend has said no because they didn't have enough money, well, I wouldn't do anything!

I hope you have a wonderful time!!!!:wizard:

EXACTLY! You hit it right on! As much as I would love for family/freinds to travel with me I love taking my solo trips. Like stitches of laughter said if I waited for people I would just never be able to go-something always comes up. I've been traveling to WDW solo since I was 19...my friends just don't have the Disney bug or they never have the money. So my only option was to go alone. I was so glad to find these boards and read that others went solo. For anyone on the fence about a solo trip just book it and go! You wont regret it! I'm going in mid Nov and CAN'T wait!
