"First rule of leadership, Princess...." ~Overdosing on Ice Cream

so glad you work up with no foot pain :thumbsup2

Im also really vigilant with sunscreen, dh and i normally attack a boy each, ouch at David burning the top of his feet hope it didnt bother him too much.

We have never seemed to make it to DHS for rope drop hopefully next trip we will catch the show it looks fun.

Great start this day! I miscalculated where to stand at rope drop here (plus there was so much pushing and undulating of the masses beforehand) that we ended up in the middle of the herd, instead of the front. Aaagh! But it was worth it for RnRC!

I thought of Daisy yesterday as my dd7 walked into the bank with her book in front of her face, reading. So funny!:goodvibes

Yeay for no more foot pain!

I am such a dork -- I had no idea that DHS did any sort of opening ceremony thing in the morning -- where have I been?

His feet didn't bother him to much, but they looked kind of gross. The rope drop show is worth seeing once.

What a nice start to the day! Glad the foot pain was gone. Can't wait to read more.

Coming soon.

Enjoying your report so much! I'll be sorry when it comes to an end!

I'm only on day 7 of 11 I think it will be a little while. ;)

Looking for Storm Troopers? :)

I love that you guys made it for most of the openings of the parks. I really think for our next trip we will try for that! If my dad and his girlfriend are coming that will be kinda hard, they sleep till NOON! But I figure they can always catch up with us later in day!
As I have been reading I have been pointing out things to my DD an she is saying Oh we need to do that (rope drop to be first family). I also am planning on making our shirts for the WHOLE trip!! or at least some of the trip!:rotfl2: . I made some for my SIL bridal shower each one was the color of the dresses that we were wearing Like I was a bridesmaid and my dress was red so I had a red shirt which had My name and that I was a bridesmaid and then is said SIL & BIL and date of their wedding! So I might make something like that for us for the trip!

I can't wait to read more!

DHS is the only park I really feel that we missed a lot at. We just couldn't seem to get show times, fast pass return times and reservations coordinated. Can't wait to see how you made out so that I can use your plan for our next trip!;)

Cant wait to hear about DHS! I love ToT but I have only been on RnR once! The last few times I went its been down, i'm excited to try it again!

"Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain." - Wizard of Oz

The rope dropped and we were part of the moving mob hurrying down Hollywood Blvd. That mass of people is a little scary. Daisy and I managed to stay together, but I lost track of the others in the rush down the road. Most people in the crowd headed to the standby line for Rock n Rollercoaster, it was just Daisy and I and one other man who went to the Fast Pass machines straight away.

After securing the Fast Passes Daisy and I walked back out to the exit for Tower of Terror crossroad. I looked around for coffee but there wasn't any in the area, so I settled for an ice cold bottle of Diet Coke from a cart to get my caffeine fix. The benches were all wet so we stood on the corner to wait for the others and people watched.

The actress from the opening show came down the road. She was quite the diva, ordering people out of her way and off handedly signing autographs and posing for pictures.

We didn't have to wait to long for everyone else who exited Tower of Terror declaring it awesome! Then we happily headed back down Hollywood Blvd. On our way to The Great Movie Ride we spotted our dinner location The Brown Derby which I was glad to see because I always like to know where I'm going later. We also stopped at a restroom and then it was on with the show.

We entered the pre-boarding movie screen room for The Great Movie ride and there was a bit of a line, but not much, and most of the switch backs were roped closed. This ment that we were lined up on the outer edge of the far side of the room. A woman in the large group behind us started having a big fit and yelling at the CM that he needed to come open up some of the ropes so that the lines would be in the middle of the room and have a better view of the screen. She was incredibly rude and obnoxious, and everyone else besides her group was just trying to ignore her. Then a couple of people in her group started climbing over the railings to stand in the middle of the room. Silently the CM came over and opening up the ropes and shifting people through the switch backs. The funny thing was that the rude woman and her group somehow still ended up on the outer edge of the room. I don't know how the CM managed that but I wanted to applaud him.

The doors opened and we were loaded into the giant caravan cars. I liked those cars, they were comfy to sit in. There is not much about The Great Movie ride that is great but it was a pleasant enough ride.

I think they should add more live action to enhance some of the other movie scenes. For me it falls in the same category as the animatronic shows, it's not a must do, but it's a nice break from the heat or rain. Speaking of rain, it was starting to look like we would get rained on later that day.

When we exited The Great Movie Ride our next Fast Pass window was opening up, so Aunt Pat and the kids went to go on Star Tours, and David and I walked back and got a second set of Fast Passes for Rock n Rollercoaster. Neither David or I like simulator rides very much and since we've done Star Tours multiple times at Disneyland we did not feel we were missing out by being the Fast Pass runners.

On our way back to meet them I was happy to spot our other ADR destination of the day, Sci-Fi Dine In. I felt myself relax just a bit having made visual contact with both places that we had to be at, at a certain time. It was an anxiety I didn't even know I was feeling until it was gone. With my obsession with being on time I don't like that knot I get in my stomach when I don't know exactly where I'm going and how long it's going to take me to get there when I have to be there at a certain time.

A Jedi training session was just starting up when we got over to Star Tours, so David and I stood and watched it a bit while we waited for Aunt Pat and the kids. We didn't see to much of it because they all came out a few minutes later with big smiles on their faces and ready to move on farther into the park.

I'm with you about GMR... I can do here and there but not too often... I'm excited for my DD to try ToT and Star Tours this time... since she's finally tall enough hehe

Sounds like a good start. I never liked Star Tours too much. And Sci-Fi is soooo cool! Can't wait to hear about Brown Derby!

I think I could do ToT if it wasn't a Twighlight Zone theme. That part freaks me out.

Brown Derby is good! :thumbsup2

They are sooo comfy, I have found it is quite easy for people to fall asleep sitting in them! :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

Sci Fi is one of our all-time favorites and not for the food!

Can't wait for more! popcorn::

That is awesome. Cast member revenge!
