"A dream is a wish your heart makes
When you're fast asleep
In dreams you lose your heartaches
Whatever you wish for, you keep
Have faith in your dreams and someday
Your rainbow will come smiling thru
No matter how your heart is grieving
If you keep on believing
the dream that you wish will come true"- Cinderella
The Rhodes Family from Washington State was going to help open the Magic Kingdom. We were quickly ushered through the gate, everyone got the card finger scan thing right this time, no do-overs necessary, and we were standing inside the entrance just us and the CM. She walked us over to the bench by the left hand entrance tunnel and asked us to wait there.
Going into the gift shop she returned with a Pirates of the Caribbean autograph book which she gave to Adam, since he was the only one still considered a child. Another CM came over to chat with us and noticed David's birthday button. She said she was the birthday lady and sprinkled birthday confetti on his head.
After a short wait a transportation CM came and escorted us to a fire truck for our ride farther back into the park.
The Magic Kingdom was pretty empty, but I was to giddy with excitment to take very many pictures on our drive in.
We stopped briefly on the bridge by Belle's Story Garden.
Then drove into an empty Toontown.
We parked over by the train station, and the train was just coming in.
We waited a bit and then another CM came over to the fire truck, took the autograph book and said he was going to get it signed by some of the characters and would bring it back.
The driver talked to us a bit, explaining some things about the Magic Kingdom, and what a once in a lifetime event this was. I wanted to say "DUH!" but I smiled and listened to all his trivia. None of the rest of my family was making much attempt to talk to him so I felt I needed to make an effort so we didn't look to country bumpkinish. I also enjoyed taking some pictures of Toontown.
Finally we were let out of the fire truck and directed to the front of Mickey's House.
We waited there, holding our breathe a little all our eyes focused on Mickey's front door.
