"First rule of leadership, Princess...." ~Overdosing on Ice Cream

Two updates in less than a day? Wow!

Sorry to hear that the food at TL and the Swan was disappointing. :( Not to mention the whacked out waiter! I am still trying to figure out the whole "rich English people" comment. We noticed a lot of British people at TL the day we went -- didn't seem overly wealthy though.

We noticed a lot of Europeans at both water parks, but I don't know about wealthy or not, everyone was in a bathing suit, how do you tell? :confused3

We had lunch at TL and thought it was pretty good -- maybe a different cook that day? :confused3

Possibly? I think part of the problem was it was such a large order and a lot of our food sat under the heating lamps for a considerable amount of time. My hamburger bun was so hard and dry I couldn't eat it at all.

Too funny about Joey's foot being the only thing visible!

The Boardwalk looks like fun -- we may need to visit!
:thumbsup2

Totally weird about the waiter! What a bizzare comment...:confused3 Makes for a good story on your TR though!

Ok So I started reading your report from the middle so today I figured that I would start at the begining. You Itinerary pages are AMAZING:worship: . MY FAMILY THOUGHT I WAS NUTS BECAUSE I HAD A EXCEL PAGE WITH ALL OF THE PARADES AND FIREWORKS AND ADR'S ON IT AND WHAT PARK WE WERE GOING TO THAT DAY! I need to show my DM you pages. As for matching clothes I do it to. We didn't match by color but by theme. On Xmas day it was pirate day we all had some type of pirate shirt on.That was the day that we got to see Jack sparrow!!! WOW is all I can say about him. :lovestruc
Even on non disney days I tend to match the boys in identical shirts because it is easier to find them. They are 5 & 7 so they still for it they think its cool!

DDIL and I are planning themed shirts for DL! :thumbsup2

Probably a good plan, though it's the only character meal with Lion King characters.

I wonder why they don't have these characters at AKL?

Doesn't everyone know this? It's the Speedos!! :rotfl2:

We thought The Swan was gorgeous and hopefully breakfast is better! Plus you'll be so close to the boardwalk that will be fun.

Maybe the RICH English people were the BECKHAM'S did I even spell that right? I am not into soccer, but I:rotfl2: know posh spice!? Maybe they were there?? :lmao: what a weirdo to ask such a question:confused: :confused3
I didn't know that you could have dinner with the cast of the lion king?
I have to go check out that creative board. The only thing I made invitations for was the BBB for the kids for their Christmas presents and then went and forgot them at home:sad1: But I have them for my scrapbook.

:scared1: I am ready for summer weather not winter anymore.

:thumbsup2 Glad I could help.

Yeah, we were in the 70's for over a week, and now its in the 40s!!

another great update, Michelle. What a weird waiter. Strange thing to say.
Wonder what he meant?????

I KNOW..... I KNOW...

The bigger the wedgie the richer you are? just sayin'

What a weird server!!! It's so annoying when it feels like you're bothering a server just to get a drink!!! And kids complaining about cupcakes? You know it's bad. I've never heard a kid complain that a basic cupcake is bad. Based on your report, I will not try that restaurant.

I love the pjs and plushies. Such a magical touch.

Tuesday March 11, 2008

I woke up at 5:30am, I was excited, and then woke the rest of my family at 6am when the Mickey & Stitch phone call came in. We had donuts,

and water for breakfast and got ready for the Magic Kingdom. Daisy and I had chosen todays outfits with especial care and they were my favorite.

The boys put on light khaki cargo shorts, Adam wore a turquoise with thin white stripes polo shirt and Joey's polo shirt had wide turquoise and white stripes. Daisy dressed in white capris, turquoise tank top and a knit top with thin turquoise and white stripes.

I had light khaki capris and a red short sleeve blouse with a khaki and turquoise flower print. Aunt Pat's outfit was khaki capris, a turquoise polo shirt and red sweatshirt. David wore a white t-shirt, khaki cargo shorts, and his birthday button.

We walked to the bus stop at 7am, it was dark out.

A bus came along almost immediately that said Epcot, but the bus driver said he would take us to the Magic Kingdom. There were a couple of other families on the bus, one going to Chef Mickey's, the other to a character breakfast at Magic Kingdom.

The air was still and the sun was just starting to come up when we got off the bus. I made the kids pose in front of the Mickey and Minnie topiaries before we walked to the entrance gates.

There was a short line at one of the right hand gates for character meals. We walked over to the empty left hand gates. It was at this point that someone in my family finally asked me what time the Magic Kingdom opened that morning. When I said not until 9am they all about fell over.

"Why did we have to get here so early?" they all chorused.

Now I had a reason for getting us there so early, but I had no guarantee my plan would work so I didn't mention any of it to them. I just let them continue to think I was crazy. I mean given my known obsession about time and being late this was not a stretch.

We watched the small amount of activity going on. Daisy sat and wrote in her journal.

David had a Diet Coke, I don't remember where he got it. I think at the bus stop vending machine before we left?

A CM came over and gave the boys some stickers.

It was at this point I thought my plan wasn't going to work and I was glad I hadn't said anything to anyone.

About 45 minutes after we arrived, we were still the only ones there,

IMG_5887.jpg

I suggested we move over to the center gates. I wanted to get a better picture of the floral Mickey.

One of the CMs who was out front came over and started talking to us. She asked where we were from and I said Washington State. David told me later I should have just said Seattle, but whatever. The kids were climbing or leaning on the entrance posts and the CM asked them how old they were. Once again my children looked as if this might be a trick question, but they managed to answer that they were 12, 11, and 9.

During this time I noticed that other people were arriving. I believe a boat had just docked and a large party of people all in matching t-shirts were rounding the corner by the Mickey and Minnie topiaries. The CM then turned to me and said "Mom, I have a question for you. How would you like to be our first family and help us open the park today?"

My heart leapt! My plan had worked, getting my family there 2 hours before rope drop was paying off! My mouth broke into a wide grin and I said with barely contained excitement "We would love to help open the park."
