"First rule of leadership, Princess...." ~Overdosing on Ice Cream

I know my reading this summer has consisted of the Twilight series, Disneyland UG, and rereading the Harry Potter series.

Did Daisy read the Twilight series too? You know Barnes and Noble is having a ton of launch parties next Friday for the last book, Breaking Dawn -- I think I will be skipping that though -- although I did go with a friend to the last two HP book releases.

Daisy said they sounded "stupid" we'll see if she reads them or not once she gets bored. They are not the best books, but they are ok.

I liked the first one, but the other two weren't as gripping in my opinion.

I actually thought the first one was the least well written. I find the characters fascinating, but something about them just doesn't work. :confused3 I found myself just skimming through them to get to the end. Plus I have no desire to re-read them, which is odd for me.

One of my friends says she doesn't think they work because Bella is whiny and everyone gives in to her all the time. :rotfl:

Can't wait to hear about breakfast! We're eating at the tusker house but not before park opening that would have been cool though!

I think it's because the answer to her being in danger all the time is so simple, just make her a vampire already, and then it won't be a problem.

Tusker House rocks!

Your AK pictures just glow! And ALL your kids look darling, but Daisy looks just beautiful! Her legs look about 9 miles long! I wonder if my kids brought books to Disney to read while waiting if they'd leave each other alone and give Mom 5 minutes peace from arguing, horsing around, general mayhem? Probably not.:sad2: I'm slightly embarassed to say I'm rereading the Ann of Green Gables series now. I don't do suspense very well. Oh, and I don't have a mod suggestion, but Yea! for Disney with just the two of you. That sounds fun!:thumbsup2

I'm looking forward to your Tusker House review. I wanted to do this place too, but we are already going to be waddling through the parks from all the food! Perfect reason for us to go back! I don't think I could do the early morning though-I'm NOT a happy morning person! :rotfl:

I LOVE the Anne of Green Gables series. I re-read all 7 of them at least once a year. :lovestruc

Tusker House is wonderful!

We just got a letter today stating that "I am thrilled to inform you that, based on her academic achievement and leadership potential, your daughter, Daisy, has been nominated to attend the National Young Leaders State Conference in the Pacific Northwest Region."

This from the Congressional Youth Leadership Council and is associated with the United States Congress, it's pretty big deal. I'm very impressed with and proud of my daughter!

I know I'm still way behind but I just wanted to say CONGRATULATIONS to Daisy!!! What a great achievement!

Stupid teenage ones! :lmao: The equivalent to Sweet Valley High and Cheerleader series I read at her age. The Clique is the name of one of the series, I read a few of them, and lets just say they are not quality writing.

Mind candy! I still read the adult equivalent to those books :lmao:

Does anyone read Nancy Drew/Hardy Boys anymore? I loved those. And Judy Blume stuff. Katie used to play the Nancy Drew computer games. They were pretty cool.

I am not doing much better on the adult reading front -- I guess we all need brain candy once in awhile and I always think it is better than watching television.

During college, "brain candy" was all I read for leisure. I think all my thinking cells got used up in course work. :rotfl:

'Course now, I'm still reading a lot of brain candy. Those paperbacks are often cheaper!

And I do think a lot of my brain cells get used up at work. Or at least that's my excuse. :rolleyes1

I know my reading this summer has consisted of the Twilight series, Disneyland UG, and rereading the Harry Potter series.

Oh, I recently finished the first two in the Twilight series. Have you read "The Host," which is her adult book? It's sitting on my bookshelf with my other to-reads.

One of my friends says she doesn't think they work because Bella is whiny and everyone gives in to her all the time. :rotfl:

:rotfl: There were often moments where I was thinking "If I were like this, I pray someone would hit on the head and tell me to get over it." That thought came up frequently at the beginning-to-middle of the second book. She is scarily, scarily obsessed with Edward, to the point of unhealthiness. I'm trying to decide whether that's the point.

Daisy amazes me with her reading!!!! I think that's really next she takes a book with her! Hollie loves to read, well, look at the pictures mostly! :goodvibes Then she comes up with her own story while we look at them! :rotfl:

Great update! I love your empty Animal Kingdom shots. Gorgeous. I'm really looking forward to your Tusker House review. We've got that one scheduled, too.

I am all caught up now! Actually I was all caught up about 1am but I was too tired to comment. Now I have to remember what I wanted to say.:lmao:

This will definitely be out of order! :rotfl2:

I'm so sorry about your blister. You are such a trooper taking on WS with your feet hurting. That place is HUGE. I probably would have been complaining about my foot the whole time, at least until the adult beverages kicked in! :rotfl2: Good plan! Dh did the whole Drinking around the World thing with his buddies one day. Somehow his foot hurt AFTER that instead of before like you. He has no recollection of how he injured himself. :rolleyes1 :lmao:

Sounds like you had some psycho waiters. I cant believe the one at the the Garden Grove asked you if there were a lot of rich English people at the water parks.:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: That was so dumb of him that it just made me break out laughing. What an odd thing to say. "yeah, they had $1000 bills as speedo's" :lmao:

Then the one at the Garden Grill that was rude. I totally understand how the day goes so perfect (except for your feet) and then something small coming from nowhere can cause a breakdown. It happens to the best of us. Why did he even have to say that. What a grump!

I'm seeing a pattern here. Waitstaff at "GARDEN" restaurants not in the BEST frame of mind.

Then the waiter at the Sci Fi getting things confused with the dining plan. Sounds like they need new training on it. I've never seen or heard of a police issuing a ticket at that restaurant. What a riot!:rotfl2: That was so funny and glad it made up for the ordering confusion.

The way you felt about Mexico because you were staying at CSR is the way we feel about CSR. We live in Phoenix so CSR to me is like driving around a prettier version of the city. I love the resort layout and the pool but we havent stayed there as we like to try something different than we are used to. We go for more tropical atmosphere. If I lived somewhere other than the Southwest I would totally stay at CSR all the time. Your pictures of it are beautiful.

Your house is so lovely. I love the floors. So elegant. I bet this is an exciting time for you all. How are the kids enjoying the new house?

I'm sure there is more I'll think of later on but my brain has stopped functioning this morning!:) Great TR, I'm really enjoying all of your pictures.
