"First rule of leadership, Princess...." ~Overdosing on Ice Cream

My fingers are crossed for you when it comes to all the new house stuff! Hope it goes well!

Looks like I'll have to procrastinate on the computer a little more, and drag out the paying of bills until your update is posted!

:surfweb:

Oh, poor homeless Michelle! :(

I hope all the inspections go well tomorrow and that you get to move this weekend.

I also hope it doesn't impact your DIS time -- Internet is already hooked up at the new house, right? :rotfl:

Thanks for the finger crossing. Don't stay up to late!

:lmao: Of course internet is already hooked up in the new house!

I'm still hear (I mean here), but quickly fading. DH jumped in for a bit, but I had to get back on to finish up stuff.

You know what I'll be doing when I wake up in the morning... your update better be here! ;)

Adam and I were the first ones out of the dump shop after the Backlot Tour, I couldn't get out of there fast enough, and Addy spotted a photo booth. He loves those so I let him go in and take his photos, Joey came out in time to join him for the last frame.

After David, Daisy, and Aunt Pat joined us outside, it was time to make our way to Sci-Fi Dine in for our lunch ADR. I was glad that we had already seen where Sci-Fi was so that we were almost able to walk straight to it. I got a little turned around, but David has a great sense of direction and he guided us there.

We were seated almost immediately after checking in. Since there were 6 of us we had a whole car to ourselves.

Adam and Joey sat in front and really enjoyed the movie clips. Daisy and David sat in the very back and spent the whole time being silly.

Our waiter came and Sci-Fi turned out to be the only place where it was a little bit of a pain to be on the Dining Plan. It was the only time that the plan felt restrictive. I think that had more to do with our waiter than anything else. I wish we had just done this restaurant out of pocket and it would have made things easier. What made it complicated was that some of us wanted milkshakes with our meal, which the adults could get, but they counted as their dessert. No problem, except that the waiter didn't bring them with the meal like we had expected, instead he brought them for dessert. Plus Adam being on the children's plan couldn't have a milkshake as his dessert, so I said he could have mine, but the waiter acted like this was a big pain too. It all worked out ok, though not exactly how we wanted.

Before our food came a cop came up to the car and asked to see Adam's drivers license.

IMG_6570.jpg

Since he didn't have one, he was given a ticket for driving without a license.

It was funny, and the highlight of the meal.

I had forgotten to warn my family to stick to burgers and milkshakes at Sci-Fi, mostly because I didn't think I needed to since they are usually burger and fries people. However they decided to branch out a bit, which was not really a good choice.

I had been looking forward to trying the BLT soup, which was ok, it would have been better if it had been hot instead of lukewarm. The waiter came by later and asked me if it had been hot since another costumer had complained, I just said it was fine because I didn't really want to deal with it.

Daisy got the onion rings, which were good.

IMG_6569.jpg

Aunt Pat and David ordered the baby back ribs, and neither one of them really liked them very well.

IMG_6577.jpg

David ended up eating half of Daisy's turkey sandwich, which she didn't like, she said it tasted "fake."

IMG_6578.jpg

My burger and fries were good.

IMG_6576.jpg

I have no memory of what the boys ordered, I am certain that they did not eat whatever it was. They were very intent on watching those movie clips, and didn't even talk to us at all.

Aunt Pat, Joey and Adam all got vanilla milkshakes.

IMG_6582.jpg

Daisy picked the cheesecake for her dessert.

IMG_6580.jpg

David ordered the apple crisp, and because he was wearing his birthday button he also received a free birthday hot fudge sundae, which I ate since my dessert was Adam's milkshake.

While our food here was not the greatest, we did enjoy our lunch. It was fun sitting in the cars pretending to be at a drive in, and we enjoyed watching the cheesy movie clips and goofing around with each other.

hehe love the photo booth pics... he's sooo silly!

Sorry to hear Sci Fi wasn't the best :( We have only done dinner there... I hear less complaints about dinner there than lunch... :confused3

Adam is silly. I think if you just stick with burgers and milkshakes Sci-Fi would be fine. We loved the atmosphere there.

We did Sci Fi last year and should have stuck with the Burgers too. We have it on our ADR list for August too since DS loved it there and DNephew really wants to go, but I am going to get the burger this time. ::yes::

Love the photobooth pictures. We haven't done the backlot tour in many years and now I know why :sad2: I agree with you and hope that they refurb or put something else there soon.

It's morning! Your update is here! YEA!!!

Looks like you all had a good time at the Sci-Fi! Thanks for the food review...we're going there on our trip and I'm pretty sure I'll get the burger, but DH was mentioning the ribs sounded good. But they're not, huh? What's the deal with them?

we were not really that impressed with sci fi either, it is a cool restaurant, but hte food is not up to par.

That is odd because I was told by our server we could get a milkshake as the drink if we wanted to when we were there last week. I have heard others say the same thing. And at the 50's Prime Time as well. Maybe it is because I was there for dinner and not lunch. :confused3

Milkshakes look awesome!!
I don't know, I just don't have any desire to eat there.
The seating is icky. I want to face my family.

First off I hope the inspections go well. Next off I am confused. We did Sci Fi with the plan and it went something like this:

Milkshakes could be ordered as a drink (both kids and adults) but if you ordered another drink (besides water) it counted as your dessert. He (DH) ordered two milkshakes one as his drink and a second as his dessert (oh and he stole sips of my coke)

I think your server wasn't very clear or helpful. Anyway its a fun place to try, even if the food isn't amazing.

I'll ask David when he gets home if he can remember what he didn't like about them.

I think if we went again, and we probably will because the boys loved eating there, I would just order an appetizer and dessert.

Our waiter was actual a pain, but I didn't want to be to negative. We didn't care if the milkshakes counted as the drinks or dessert, we just would have preferred that they come with the food. The server was very adamant about the milkshakes only being for dessert. I think that is one of the problems with the Dining Plan, the inconsistency between waitstaff.

The not facing the family was a little awkward.

I have no recollection of our lunches when we ate at Sci-Fi, but I remember clearly thinking it was a fun atmosphere and also that it was FREEZING! I was seriously wishing for some sweaters in there, most of all because my 5-year-old was sitting ON TOP of me to keep warm!:rotfl2:

I don't remember being cold, but then I was more focused on how dark it was.
