My DH and I will be going to DLR either the first or second week in October. Which would you choose and why? Thanks :flower3:

I picked the last couple of days of September going into the beginning of October.

I remember having reasons why I chose those dates, I'm just having a hard time remembering them :rotfl:

Originally we were going to go mid October but there is a convention at that time that might add extra traffic and also more importantly there is a big school closure in Utah that apparently brings in tons of people.

I wanted to avoid the long weekend on the 8th of October and gays days although I've heard that doesn't add too much to the crowds.

Plus I got a good price for my dates :p

I'm interested in hearing other peoples thoughts too.

Thank you! I forgot about Columbus Day, our schools gon't get that off any longer. Hmmm...maybe I should go check on conventions.

We are going the first week, have no choice due to my child's fall break. But the hotel prices sure reflect that it's fall break, as a lot are booked, or prices are higher. (Compared to the week prior.)
So, I think it depends on which dates work for YOU!

Either week works for us. Just trying to get some other folks opinions ;)

I went in Oct 2011 and picked then end of Oct because of all the fall breaks in various states that take place during the first two weeks of October. So, as the PP said, I'd probably avoid Columbus Day (also Canadian Thanksgiving) and stick to the first week of October. But, be prepared for some other fall breakers to be joining you in the parks.

We are going from the 5th to the 11th. I am pretty sure Gay Days is that weekend and Columbus Day on Monday. But, we had to choose that weekend because that is our fall break here(as well as many AZ schools). We went this weekend 2 years ago and the crowds were not bad but, I hear last year they were awful. Good luck with your decision.

Thanks for your input everyone :) I'm leaning toward the first week, but, still not totally decided.
