First night dinner suggestions?

I'm an old WDW veteran, but I'm still having trouble deciding something . DS (12) and I will be arriving July 18, which is an E-nite at the MK (starts at 9:30). We will arrive at AKL around 1:30, get settled, and maybe head to the MK area late afternoon. I made dinner ressies at Chef Mickey's, but am having 2nd thoughts because I really disliked it 4 years ago (too loud and hectic and food mediocre). Any suggestions for another dinner in the MK/MK resort area that would get us in the WDW mood but be a little quieter?? How is LTT for dinner??

Catch boat at MK to jump over to FW and go to Trails End Buffet. It is nice 20 minute boat ride for some good food then some porch time in those great oversized rocking chairs.Go down rent a Water Mouse for a little afternoon fun.Then jump back on boat to go back to MK for your E-Nite.Have fun

We enjoyed having dinner at 'Ohana at the Polynesian on our arrival day. MK is just a quick monorail ride. Although they have activities for the kids, we (two adults) had a delightful window seat away from the center of it. We loved the food and had a relaxing and enjoyable time.

We usually go to either CRT or LTT for our first night meal in the MK.

Another vote for Ohana's!!

If you plan to go to MK and stay for E-night.....it will be a nice break away from the park before hitting the E-night rides.

Make a PS for around 7. Then you can eat and relax a bit before heading back to MK.

Ohana's is our favorite place to eat!!

If you don't want the hassle of leaving then park then go to LTT.
But the park is going to be really crowded, so a break would be nice.

You can have a fun dinner, visit the petting farm and blacksmith shop, and stroll around the Trading Post before heading back to MK!
