We are arriving late afternoon for our vacation at CSR. I booked a one night room only, prior to staring our week long Magic your way plus dining. I won't have entrance to the park until the next day. Looking for suggestions for dinner, that night. I already have booked 'Ohana, Whispering Canyon, and Chef Mickey later in the trip.

I would do The Wave at CR or 1900 park fare at GF.

However if I was heading to DTD that day I would do WPE (marketplace)...that is fabulous!

We were thinking about DTD... our DD 9,12 love to shop. I was thinking about WPE( yum) later when I have the DDP, but This might be better.
Thanks

Earl of Sandwich is in DTD. It is very yummy and relatively inexpensive by Disney standards ($6 for a very filling sandwich). Have a great trip!

Olivia's Cafe is great for dinner and they usually have plenty of availability. They have great Shrimp Pasta and Conch Fritters!

Beaches and Cream over at the Beach Club, or WPE at DTD if you want to keep the cost down. If you have never been to the AK Lodge, Mara (their CS), has pretty decent food and you could check out the animals.

Kona or Grand Floridian Cafe are a couple of good resort places to eat as well.
Raglan Road at DTD is good too.

:)

If you're going to DTD, I agree with the Raglan Road suggestion, or you might eat at Fulton's. Little more expensive, but very good.

I would do Narcoossee's and book it during Wishes. That will get you in the mood for the parks.

If your staying at CSR then I would definately try Maya Grill. The dinner there was very good.:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I would go to DTD and either do RR or WPE. If you want to get "in the mood" I would suggest 1900 Park Fare. The buffet is great and the Characters are priceless. We have started a new tradition and this is our first dinner on property. You can take the monorail around and get excited to be close to the MK. Have fun!

We like to go to DTD and hang around, have dinner at Fultons or WPE/WPC

DD has been our first night tradition for years! It really gets us in the Disney spirit to walk around all the stores and hear the mood music. Several people have already mentioned Earl of Sandwich - great choice if you are tired from travelling. They have an excellent selection of sandwiches and salads that are fairly quick to eat. We also like Ragland Road if there is a little more time. Their food is really good and filling and if you time it right you get great entertainment. Good luck and have a great trip!

Our normal 1st night dinner is the Cinderella Dinner at 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian. We've had amazing character interactions there both times and we all enjoy the food.

If we were to do something at DTD it would be either Wolfgang Puck Express (good food, large portions for sharing, and not too expensive) or Earl of Sandwich (awesome sandwiches)!

I would suggest the Kona Cafe....or even Cpt Cooks at the Poly, their Aloha Pork sandwich is DHs fav.

Growing up on trips when we got in late afternoon we used to go to DTD the first night. It felt like Disney without being in a park. If you're looking for a more formal sit-down dinner, I really enjoyed The Wave at the Contemporary and you could check out some of the monorail hotels.
