First identified American casualty in Haiti quake was brother of former chief residen

One of our former cheif residents' brother was the first American death identified in the Haiti earthquake.

So sad, and probably just the beginning, I'm afraid . . .

Sadly, it is just the beginning. I just emailed with a friend of mine who works at Disney, she has lost family and friends in Haiti. This has to be one of the worst things I have seen in my lifetime

How sad. It's hard to even comprehend what these people are going through right now.

I read on CNN (I think..) that right now is the most critical time, because most of the injured will die towards the end of the 72 hour mark if they don't receive the care they need.

My prayers are with all the family and friends who are starting to hear of the loss of loved ones...

My Boss's friends lost their Son who was visiting their Daughter down there for New years. She is an aid worker. She was hurt badly and he didn't make it. They are actually chartering their own helicopter in DR to go get their daughter and get her back to US...and they won't be able to recover their Son for weeks.
How awful.
