Ok, I thought of another Fort Fuzzy---you know what I mean---that warm feeling you get when you think of special moments at the Fort??? Well, here's an account of one of my first Fort Fuzzies:
At check-in the CM told us they had forgotten some of our keycards and asked if we could come back before 10pm to get them. No problem, we replied. Well after setting up quickly (as described before) and after going to the pool and hot tub, we returned back to the camper and changed clothes/ gathered our s'mores stuff, etc. Me and DS7 volunteered to catch a bus to the front and get our cards, then meet DH and DD at campfire. Now, I am NOT good with directions. At A-L-L. My DH knows this and described the best route for us to get to the nearest bus station. And so away we went on foot to find a bus. We came out of the 700 loop and took a left. I didn't remember exactly what my hubby had said, but hey---I can catch a bus. Or so I thought. We turned right by the 400 loop and just kept walking and walking. We waited for 10 minutes or so at the bus stop near the 500 loop, then decided---hey, this walkin' thing is not so bad let's keep going.
Well by the time we were approaching the bus stop at the 1400 loop, we were over the whole "walking" thing. There was a bus approaching at the same time as us. I felt sure she was coming to personally pick us up. We were mere steps away---she stopped for a second or so---we began running and waving our arms and watched in disbelief as she just drove on by. It's ok, I tell my son---we'll catch the next one. Well, the thing is---there is no next one at that point. We walked all the way around and when we got the front of the loop we asked someone in a golf tournament for directions to the front. Well, apparently, though we were still full of Disney wonder and I had used the "let's pretend we're from the olden days before cars" routine with my son---we were looking a little weary and weathered. I say this because after continuing our journey to the front and getting our cards, we walked out the Reception Outpost and, lo & behold, there were our kind golf cart ladies who had given us directions. She said, "hun, I just couldn't bear the thought of you having to walk all the way back from wherever you came from."
Now, how stinkin' sweet is that???? We explained that, yes, we had bikes and also a golf cart scheduled for delivery in the morning---but simply got a little turned around and missed every single bus!
Here's another couple pics from our trip....
Sometimes you just have to take the time to have a drink, smell the roses, paint a picture....
A very good natured artist let me pose in his seat and wear his hat. Don't you wish ppl everywhere were as happy as the ppl at Disney????
And...don't you LOVE when you see this:
